I understand Tarantino is still important to a lot of people but I cannot muster any energy to get excited about what he's up to in 2025 like this man lives in Israel and is out meeting the IDF to show his support can we divest

This is so accurate it’s depressing
I don't recall where I found this, but I'd say this looks about right.

I’ve always been a huge Tarantino fan but wtf is this. EVERYTHING he does is an homage to something else.
Quentin Tarantino bashes ‘The Hunger Games’ for “ripping off” ‘Battle Royale’ on Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast:

“I do not understand how the Japanese writer didn’t sue Suzanne Collins for every f***ing thing she owns.”

The only antidote - and I do mean the ONLY one - to Trump and Miller's xenophobia is a full-throated defense of immigration and a full-throated attack on the racism and xenophobia currently guiding immigration policy. You can't half-ass this one, you can't Very Reasonable Limits this one.

The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.

Incredible thread, read the whole thing.

My takeaway from this is that the solution is stripping these elites of their wealth and power, completely and permanently.
Keep forgetting to say the most important thing:

These guys' fundamental glitch--whether we're talking abt Trump or the broligarchs or any of the intl rogue's gallery of celebs, CEOs & heads of state who appeared in the Panama Papers & other leaks--is that they can ONLY get off on transgression.
On the overlap btw offshore use & sexual exploitation of women here's a snippet:

Donald Trump--who appears 1000s of times in offshore leaks & bragged abt his tax evasion--is not the only rich guy whose hobbies include cheating with their friends' wives. Per an offshore wealth mgr I interviewed:

Stick with tried and true cooks and chefs online, fuck AI.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

I mean I have been enraged about this topic for a while, but I had also never actually figured out how they calculate the poverty line.

I am legitimately speechless.
We have a “poverty trap” and it’s driving the destruction of social cohesion.

The “poverty line” is’t 35,000, it’s $150,000, and making more than one, and less than the other is worse than being “poor”.

Which is why the rage.

My phone is doing all the same things from 2015 with only minimal benefits. The only reason we have to upgrade is increased software bloat.

We should actually just have phones that last 15 years now.
