Good morning, it's Jobs Day. Reports today will likely focus on the modest job growth we saw in June and a fairly low unemployment rate.

But I want to once again *turn your attention to Black women,* where the story is very different.

Black women’s unemployment is rising. Economists say it’s a warning sign.
New data released Thursday from the Bureau of Labor Statistics marked the third straight month of high unemployment rates for Black women.

Interesting peek into how tariffs may shorten the lifespan of Social Security — by requiring higher cost-of-living adjustments and suppressing the number of jobs/workers who pay into the fund.

The hospital industry, in particular...they have a lot to lose.

While the stock price of a couple major health care players - UNH and HCA - is an imperfect measure of the financial benefits of the ACA to the health care industry, it definitely shows they are doing quite well in a stable ACA environment.

Proposed cuts to #NSF, #NIH, and #NASA will set the US R&D landscape back 25 yrs+, cause economic and job loss now, and undermine innovations to come.

But, this is the WH's *proposed* budget.

Speak up now before it is too late.
