They said in the DWM article that they couldn't replace all the shots with CGI, so they decided to stick with the puppet but shoot it at the right frame rate to try and give it the heft that the original didn't have.

I was delighted to have a copy of this land on my doorstep yesterday, to go with the two Chronicles (Gala Week and Moonbather).
