They must accept that, whatever they do, they’ll never get the support of the majority of the mainstream media.

If they do accept that, then a much more aggressive approach to dealing with them isn’t going to do any further harm.

If a line of questioning needs shutting down, then shut it down.

New cafetière arrived yesterday, matching the smaller one I picked up earlier in the year. It's a 1970s design from Ilsa. I'm done with Bialetti now that they sold out to private equity.

Reform's voters genuinely don't know what Reform's policy platform is outside of anti-immigration vibes. they seem to be expecting economically left policies with social conservatism, but what they are going to get and absolutely hate is Thatcherism.

Labour’s Employment Rights Bill - a rare effort to address inequality of power.

“A large majority of voters backing Nigel Farage also want stronger working rights. Yet he and his MPs voted against every item in the bill.”
But of course they did.

Mason declares that in his judgement we have been misled by Rachel Reeves.

It feels unprecedented that the BBC has made a "call" on a story, and is something that was absent throughout the terms of notorious liars such as Johnson.

There were certainly no "calls" about Brexit lies.

And death by a thousand cuts is clearly the plan.
This daily attack on the Labour government is extraordinary.
The OBR is only 15 years old, yet it leaks the budget for the first time during a Labour government.
This is a systematic attack on this government.

Watched BBC 6 o clock news. Just a completely unserious broadcast. Chris Mason, acting like a children's entertainer, giving a prolonged impenetrable editorial. Not a whiff of informative content about the Budget or what it means for the country. Just playschool blah blah bollocks.

The OBR definitely has too much power and a right wing bias. Government has had to negotiate to get them to understand that public investment creates growth rather than crowding out private investment. That mentality is what has held us back #newsnight
