I oppose Donalds' policies. But I also oppose @miamiherald.com with an emphasis on Erika Donalds' physical appearance. That's sexist.
It’s a sunny early October afternoon in Coral Gables, and Erika Donalds is dressed sharply in a long red wrap dress and nude stilettos as she walks from table to table speaking to attendees at high tea at the Biltmore Hotel.

As a native Floridian who is anti-trump and anti-desantis, I strongly oppose a "divorce." Quite the opposite: I want to see help from others who oppose them in cleaning up this state.
Can the marriage between the Blue states and the Red states be saved?

Political scientist @Ryan-griffiths.bsky.social says increased polarization is not inevitable – and that there’s no way for a national divorce without a great deal of violence.
Polarizing political events are leading Americans to increasingly call for a national divorce
As support for secessionist movements increases, it’s vital that political leaders reduce the divisions that threaten to tear the US apart.

Before he ran for governor, Sinclair, through his writing, was a major part of the progressive movement that toppled the original Gilded Age.
Democratic Socialist Zohran #Mamdani shocked NYC by winning the Democratic mayoral primary—beating Andrew #Cuomo in a landslide.

But it wasn’t unprecedented. For historians, it looked a lot like socialist novelist Upton Sinclair’s primary victory in 1934 (thread)
