Activity trackers should really have an easy toggle for “cat mode” - I have a sleeping/snuggling cat on me, don’t nag me to stand/move until deactivated.

Well, shit. If anyone has been using BetterVet or TheVets as mobile vet, be aware that 1) BetterVet merged with TheVets and then 2) TheVets (including everything related to BetterVet patients) SHUT DOWN with no communication to patients in July 2025. Website is still up. No indication. 1/3

Sometimes it sucks living within half a mile of the UPS depot. Packages get loaded on a truck before 8am, I get a notice that it should arrive between 3:00-600.
Now updated to “by 7:00” but it’s almost 8 and the truck has clearly gone back home for the night 🙄

I swear my cats are psychic. The moment I start thinking “yeah, I should probably get out of bed” … *poof* magically two cats appear and snuggle down on me. Leonard isn’t even messing with T’Pau, they’re just both dead weight on me. 😹

I’m getting more and more pissed at scam calls, type of thing that scares people like my mom. Don’t know how many she’s acted on (hopefully not many) but I think I’ve gotten her to reliably stop and contact me to check it out. This time is from my phone 😾

For once buying the extended warranty on a kitchen appliance paid off. Paid about $500 for 5 years on the fridge we got 3 years ago. It stopped keeping the temp stable, so we got it repaired. Some was covered by manufacturer warranty, but over $700 wasn’t, just got reimbursed! Thanks, past me!

My healthcare is through the marketplace. My mom is on Medicare and in a senior community (independent, with assisted and memory care available when needed). She has long-term health care plan for when that advanced care is needed. She *will* need memory care.
I’m low-key terrified.

Stopped doomscrolling, drank some water, took a nap. Felt a bit better when I woke up and actually was hungry and food sounded good.

I mean, I already knew UHC is evil, but damn. My mom used a broker when she moved cross country to get new healthcare. The plan seems great for her, and shows many doctors as in-network. The website is ALL LIES. We spent all afternoon on the phone calling doctor after doctor, none take her plan. 🖕
