Billboard Hits in addition to "Da Butt"

"Buck Wild" (1989): A go-go/new jack swing hybrid, this song was a Top 10 hit on the R&B chart.
"Taste of Your Love" (1989): Another Top 10 R&B hit for the band, it was a ballad that further expanded their national reach.
My first Substack essay looks at an odd phenomenon in American politics: It seems like Trump and congressional Republicans think poor people have too much money and wealthy people have too little. Odd.

Thoughts?

I am looking forward to joining my dear brother Tavis Smiley on Monday to discuss the recently passed GOP-Trump budget bill, among other issues.

We've got a lot to talk about!

Republicans in Congress have structured the most painful benefit cuts in their budget bill to kick in AFTER the 2026 midterms.

But the tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy? Those begin immediately.

Remember this.
House Freedom Caucus: TACO!
What year was this speaker list? In what way is it relevant to the current Democratic party?
Stop posting out of context bs that has nothing to do with today. What year was that convention speaker list? My point is that it is old and irrelevant. What is yours?

“The article describes Barry's most serious challenger, Patricia Harris, as taking a ‘cautious’ and ‘politically correct’ stance on gay issues, in contrast with Barry, who was considered, at the time, "one of the most progressive mayors in the country on the issue of gay rights.’”
I know there have been efforts to make these two seem to be enemies. One prominent artist turned my uncle, a hero, into a villain for artistic purposes. Fauntroy, still alive and can confirm this, and Chisolm had a strong and respectful relationship. They shared a commitment to the African diaspora.
Ayyy! I never knew that Rep. Shirley Chisolm went with Rep Walter Fauntroy to Haiti in 1982 to investigate Baby Doc & try to help Haitians so they didn't have to flee & deal with our Coast Guard trying to drive them to drown or return them!
This list has nothing to do with the current DNC.

On this date in 1968, Robert and Ethel Kennedy and Pastor Walter Fauntroy took a walk through a riot-damaged area of Washington DC. During their walk, Fauntroy was shocked to hear RFK say: "I fear that guns stand between me and the White House."

Former civil rights leader, MLK friend, Walter Fauntroy, at right speaks next, looking for it. These guys are so underfunded, but have the power of truth and so will prevail.
