My honest to goodness favorite part of Rope is the incredibly detailed New York backdrop behind the window that gradually goes from day to night.
I rewatched THE SENTINEL for the first time in years and using people with facial body abnormalities as the demons from Hell made me feel kinda gross. Like, in Freaks, it's about people in a side show, and they're treated as human beings. In THE SENTINEL, they're used to save on the makeup budget.

When oh when oh fucking when is this goddamn AI bubble going to burst?!?!! I'm beyond sick of it. I have entered the "in a rage every day" stage of AI hatred.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor has removed their entire catalog from all music streaming platforms. Well, I've still got functioning CDs so that's good. Honestly surprised they were ever on them to begin with. F♯ A♯ ∞ remains a cherished favorite.

I decided to have a nostalgia hit this morning and watch an episode of Ultraman (episode 23, My Home is Earth) and quickly realized it had more interesting shot setups and lighting than almost any studio movie of today.

It has now been over 8 years since my seminal TCM article on The Hound that Thought He was a Raccoon. When is the Nobel Literature committee going to recognize me?

When you're building a channel, it's definitely reassuring to have new viewers watch the older stuff as well. Also, sharing the videos they watch. That's always encouraging too.

The backseat of the 1967 Oldsmobile Barris 70-X Toronado, concept car designed by George Barris, just blows my mind. I have never seen one of these in person but I would so love to.
