Are you interested in supporting fellow UK LGBTQ+ librarians?

I'm stepping down as chair of LGBTQ+ Network at the end of my 2 year term in the summer. Maybe you'd like to take over?

Great opportunity to push your agenda, get know in the sector & build a wide range of skills.

Happy to prelim chat

The phrase “everyone needs an Alison in their life” (educational, supervisional, or just in their general sphere), said during the #LILAC25 conference, comes to mind when reading this article.

In light of this news, I regret not making clear in my #lilac25 talk on my PhD research on women's information experiences that my research approach includes trans women, and nonbinary folks who have girl/woman as part of their identity. My feminism has no space for those who gatekeep womanhood.
UK SC's definition of 'woman' is a serious affront to decades of labour in queer studies to decouple sex & gender that even WHO recognises. It's a colonial-racial chokehold to safeguard power of TERFs & GCs. Moving forward, all women will have rights curtailed.

We used this at the beginning of our workshop yesterday to learn how others have used UX. I thought I'd add it here to see if anyone else in #LILAC25 wants to contribute. Share details with others if you want to follow up with a chat. There's some amazing work going on! tiny.cc/z6qg001

We need evidence on the impact of IL - and we need it from outside the HE sector. Can we capture data on what we're doing and why it matters? What changes as a result of information literacy? #lilac25
