We're gonna need a truth and reconciliation commission and Nuremberg style trials to reckon with all of this evil, and any Dem candidate for office who shies away from a full reckoning in the name of "moving forward as a nation" can get well and truly fucked

On September 10th, I filed my code of conduct complaint against the leadership of the feminist caucus for the transphobia I and another trans person were subjected to.

I wrote about how an Iraq-war era military contractor ended up as a mall cop cracking down on a protest encampment in Minneapolis the summer after the George Floyd protests. This is the story of Nathan Seabrook and long arc of the war on terror. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

For no reason at all, I'm just thinking about how the four incumbent Council Members that the losers behind A Precarious State attacked for their DSA ties got a cumulative 64% of the vote in their wards, beating their next-closest opponents by 32%.

no kidding. the progressive bloc held onto power, all winning by 17+ pts. two new conservatives (warren and shaffer) won narrowly and will be by far the most vulnerable incumbents come 2029. BET stayed progressive. parks had a progressive pro-union wave.
And also, if they wanted moderation, why did they put Wonsley and Chavez back in? Why Soren? They had moderate options and in most cases picked someone else at the council level.
this analysis is strange in that it doesnt answer the fundamental question about Minneapolis voters - if Frey's multiple lies and polarizing ways were truly against their values and they were tired of it, why did they not choose Davis? www.startribune.com/jacob-frey-r...

My gut reaction, looking at this map, is the people who encounter the homelessness epidemic everyday voted to remove Jacob from office.

Those who don’t encounter this problem day to day had other concerns not addressed by the other campaigns.

I think people ignore how many Mamdani style candidates that have ran across the country and were very popular, but the establishment Democrats organized themselves to crush them. I could be wrong, but I think most progressive initiatives and politicians get blocked by Democrats nationwide.

At some point tonight the fourth @jamisonwhiting.bsky.social sign disappeared.

Could have been a volunteer picking them up after the Election but it’s more likely that the unhinged person stapling paper plates adorned with faces and altered campaign signs to telephone poles took it.

Hampton's eliminated ballots sent 6,623 votes to Frey and 5,661 to Fateh.

Davis's eliminated ballots sent 4,727 to Frey and 12,607 to Fateh.

Kinda what I expected from Hampton ballots but yeah. We needed 4,174 of these Hampton/Davis ballots to go to Fateh for a different outcome.
