Found this delightful cup today at the local Japanese grocery. This is the Great Buddha of Kamakura* which I included a photo of.

I visit this place every few years and always love it.

* More precisely it is a statue of Amida Buddha, whose temple was washed away in a 15th century tsunami.

Remember when Amazon held a sale during Independent Bookstore Day in an effort to undercut indie bookstores?

We didn’t forget. Support local bookstores during Small Business Saturday and beyond.

While it is accurate to say the US inherited from Weatern Civilization, the moment it declared independence, it set a new course that has gradually diverged from European culture, and through its interactions with immigrants and Native peoples become something different.

TL;DR this tweet is bunk.

I too remember. This humble feed is anti-Nazi.

Nazis and their allies are just insecure man-babies trying to act tough by knocking other people down.

Last week we watched a murder mystery episode, today we are watching Murder Planet in this classic #StarTrek episode.

Come join us on this odyssey of danger and rampant violations of the Prime Directive, watch when we watch and don't forget to tag your snark with #TOSSatNight.

Hope to see you!

Read through The Electric State core rulebook and indeed this is a very compelling and haunting setting. Hits pretty close to home.

Captain we have entered the orbit of an anti-woke Gamergate community on reddit. I recommend we reverse course immediately.

Visited my local neighborhood game shop to pick up a couple more #ttrpg games from Free League Publishing: Tales from the Loop and The Electric State.

The artwork alone is AMAZING. The games look super fun.

For Native American Heritage Day, not only can you stick it to big retailers on Black Friday, but you can also help native communities by shopping local.

This is a bilingual bag of coffee featuring the local Dumawish (dxʷdəwʔabš) tribe, with Lushootseed writing and English.

// Forgot to post this yesterday but we have a Japanese-style calendar at home (free from our local Asian market) and Thanksgiving was listed as "大安" (tai-an, "great luck"). Indeed as Thanksgiving went it was surprisingly with few family hassles. Just a nice, low-key but wholesome day. 🥰

I do have some "shop local" options I will still do this weekend (local game store, local native-american arts festival, Japanese bookstore, etc), but that's it for us.
Out boycott started today. Shit's too expensive anyway. more of a Fuck You of Convenience.
