What is the role of the state in getting to net-zero emissions? A fabulous crew of wise, knowledgeable, friendly and generous scholars met in Paris earlier this week to read each others’ work and discuss this. And wow, we really did learn a lot from each other!

I have had a wonderful Easter celebration with our dog Ziggy. 30 years since the last time I belonged to a family that brought a dog with us into the mountains. Lots of fun in the snowy areas of Luster, one of the few areas Norwegians could find snow this year and practice Easter tradition nr. 1: ⛷️

Meanwhile, what is going on in Sweden? Today we, the professors in the Swedish Climate Policy Council, presented our report. We have assessed whether Sweden is on its way to meet its climate targets, national targets and EU targets. Main conclusion: we are worried. This 🧵 with a short summary.

I love national parks, in the US and elsewhere! We need more parks, not less. When visiting US national parks in Utah in April 2023 the crowds where gigantic, and the rangers struggled to protect the nature. I am worried. Norwegian national parks kan not fit all nature loving Americans!

Days are growing longer in Oslo, making #wintercycling more joyful. Very cold, and very nice. Here on my way home as the sun was setting. It was even possible to forget what is going on in US politics for a while.
