no don’t be sorry, i think everyone feels nervous they’re not writing “accurately” enough. But the truth is, barring actual canon, everything “inaccurate” is just as made up as the “accurate” stuff. As long as you have fun creating, that’s what fanwork is all about, regardless of canon standards!

Also, I think it’s worthwhile to have an open mind about this stuff. Getting to experience different interpretations is really rewarding if you let it be. Fanworks are art. I’d rather experience someone’s individual vision than read a work which only strives to minimize their voice

I think it's fair to dislike fanon interpretations or feel annoyed wasting time on bad fanfic, but you either need to get over it or kiki about it with friends in private, because endlessly critiquing amateur art made for free on your public page is extremely gauche
