I asked Codex to fix several files which were not compiling. It deleted the content of each file and replaced it with a message "... temporarily disabled while syntax is updated." 🤦🏻‍♂️

Vibe projects which LLMs (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Ollama) failed miserably at:

- Create a new CI/CD DSL using Lua
- Create a new general purpose language using Rust
- Try using Zig instead of Rust
- Add self-hosted bootstrapping in C
- Create a retro RPG using V
- Try using Lua instead

Been vibe coding a new programming language for the past month, for fun. Each LLM has been involved until they all crash or fail. Switched to local Ollama, told it to review the repo. It's first response: "What a massive and complex project!" 😂

Had to cancel my Anthropic Claude Code subscription. Quality has been abysmal for the past week. Ran into a show-stopping bug, entered a GH issue and found it was reported 3 weeks ago; no activity

Tried using #GPT5 yesterday and today for coding. Not great; I had to switch back to Claude Code (Sonnet 4). A few notes about GPT5:
- Very slow
- Refuses to test the code it generates. Cannot run tests or REPL in my environment. Sandboxed?
- Doesn't follow my instructions well.

Attended Tampa Bay Technology Leadership Association's Hackathon this evening as a Mentor thanks to an invitation from my friend. Congratulations to the winners and partisipants! Very creative presentations many utilizing A.I. It was also nice meeting new people and catching up with old colleagues.

How can an Assassin’s Creed game set in Japan’s Tenshō era (with samurai and ninjas) be the most boring entry in the series? 👎🏻

Discovered this fantastic Ruby gem for chatting with LLMs today: github.com/crmne/ruby_llm. Very well put together! 👍🏻

Normally I hand-craft data repositories and load *.sql files from disk. However, in this project, I wanted to explore using the following choices: Async Postgres, SQLAlchemy ORM, Pydantic. gitlab.com/ejstembler/p...

This morning I converted Ruby code of mine to Rust, which I plan on embedding in a Python #LangChain Agent as a tool. Fun stuff!

Saw this on another site. Ask ChatGPT:

“based on what you know about me. draw a picture of what you think my current life looks like”

I asked ChatGPT 4o to translate a DSL parser/tokenizer I wrote into another language. It generated partial results. I ask it to generate complete results, it apologies and generates partial results again 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’ve been using #ChatGPT o1-preview this weekend. I’ve concluded it’s not any better at coding. Still makes stuff up. Keeps going round and round. Only difference is it’s more verbose now

I owned a Casio GShock Coca-Cola watch for about 10 minutes. Couldn’t see display (not as bright as advertised), couldn’t set the correct date, not worth the price 👎🏻
