Not directly related but a certain music YouTuber once told one of his more classical music peers on a call that they recorded and released that video games have "real music" now and I have never unsubscribed to a YouTuber so fast.
I heard someone on a podcast say that music is boring now and, look, I am saying this as kindly as I can…skill issue.

MOM: I know! My friend sent me this crazy post where someone used AI to make an image of a giant frog fighting Army troops!
ME: ... okay, no, that one's ... goddamit, Portland.

"Firemen are the guys with the flamethrowers, right?" Maurice added as a follow-up.
Paul Maurice on his big, bad Florida Panthers: "I’ve got more firemen than arsonists. I’m not saying I don’t have an arsonist or two, but I’ve got more firemen.”

My column on the league's boogeymen, the team everyone loathes to hate:

Love them or loathe them, Panthers relish their role as the NHL’s bad guys
Like it or not, the center of the hockey world is in its southernmost market, and Florida won't be content until it's built a true dynasty.

The Arc of My Autism

When I was a child, I felt and acted more autistic.
It wasn’t subtle. The traits were there, raw, unfiltered, obvious. I didn’t have the words for it, but I knew I was different. 1/7

We are losing something by having newsrooms where everyone who has more than a few years’ experience has gotten fired. I don’t fault a young writer for not knowing about things that happened before she was born. But now there are no editors to help give context to these stories, either.

Mark Carney is destroying Canada just as surely as Pierre Poilievre, only he's doing it in a "dignified" way.

I'm sorry Canada
The government is reducing service standards and Canada Post’s biggest advantage: its nationwide network.

This plan is about cutting back the postal service instead of investing to give it new revenue tools through things like postal banking. It’s shameful.

To know you don't know something, assumes you know things.

AI doesn't know things, any things. Therefore it is not capable of knowing that it does not know.

The idea that it is deciding what is worse not knowing or lying, is again giving it human understanding that it does not have.
Hey guys I have a solution: program the fucker to be capable of saying "I DON'T KNOW"

In general I hate that "I don't know" is way way worse than lying now?? Bullshitting something and hoping you get away with it is valued more than admitting something is out of your league
And literally four days later from this story Open AI admits what we all know to he true.

That when a model generates bullshit, that’s no flaw, that’s just how it works.
