Monster Manual - Boar, Giant
"This prehistoric forerunner of the wild boar is also very aggressive. If 3 or more are encountered there is only a 25% chance that there will be young (2-6 hit dice, 1-4/2-5/2-7/2-8/3-12 hit points damage/attack) numbering from 1-4 of the total herd."

Summoner Saga - Imp
Now we move on to the diabolical side of the coin… Imps are tiny demons and that’s pretty much it. All three of these designs are based on figures from Hieronymus Bosch’s works.

Summoner Saga - Chalkydri
These celestial creatures only show up in the Second Book of Enoch where they live around the sun. Chalkydri are described as having the heads of crocodiles, lion feet, twelve wings, and a rainbow color.

Summoner Saga - Uraeus
This is one of two echo fighters for the seraph. The reason the uraeus is connected to the seraph is the ambiguity around that type of angelic being and snakes. The fiery flying serpent referred to as a seraph especially resembles the Egyptian symbol.

Summoner Saga - Seraphim
The seraphs are another odd-ball. Almost every instance of the word “seraph” in the Tanakh is used to describe a snake. Only in the Book of Isaiah does it refer to celestial beings. It’s important to note that seraph simply means “burning”.

Summoner Saga - Ophanim
You know it, you love it, it's the ophanim. The celestial beings which started the whole “biblically accurate angels” meme are an outlier in almost all respects. Their appearance in Ezekiel's vision was probably meant to be metaphorical but it is undoubtedly a striking image.

Summoner Saga - Cherubim
The design for the cherubim comes from the tetramorph, especially Eastern Orthodox depictions.

Summoner Saga - Dominion
The idea is that they govern natural laws and the movement of heavenly bodies, so they have an astrological design motif. The angel’s body is an astrolabe which points between planets, with the humanoid portion of the angel being the astrolabe’s hands.

Summoner Saga - Principality, Power, Virtue
Principalities guide nations and kings, and so they carry a crown and scepter. Powers can restrain demons and other evil forces, so they have a book like an exorcist. Virtues control the elements, especially storms, and so they have an atmospheric theme.

Summoner’s Saga is a ttrpg game I’ve been making over the past half a year or so, the newest iteration of this (www.deviantart.com/dwoll/art/Cr...). The game is a hack of Pokeymanz by chronicdelusionist, but starring beings from folklore, mythology, religion, and fantasy.

Monster Manual - Boar
"The boar will fight for 2-5 melee rounds after reaching 0 to -6 hit points but dies immediately at -7 or greater damage."

Monster Manual - Blink Dog
"These brown and yellowish creatures are as intelligent as normal humans and have a fairly complex language consisting of barks, yaps, whines, and growls. They are also able to use a limited form of teleportation (the blink)."

Monster Manual - Black Pudding
"Its tiny mouths and saliva do 3-24 hit points of damage per melee round to exposed flesh. If the monster needs to dissolve wood in order to obtain food, it can eat away about a two inch thickness of wood equal in area to its diameter in 1 melee round."

Monster Manual - Beholder
"The beholder (eye tyrant, sphere of many eyes) is most frequently found underground, although it infrequently will lair in desolate wildernesses. The globular body of this monster is supported by levitation, and it floats slowly about as it wills."

Monster Manual - Beetle, Giant Water
"The giant water beetle is found only in fresh water of not less than 30' deep. As they are voracious eaters, they prey upon virtually any form of animal but will eat almost anything. Slow and ponderous on land, they move very quickly in water."

Monster Manual - Beetle, Giant Stag
Here I would include a quote from the text, but unfortunately the information presented in the Monster Manual about giant stag beetles (Lucanus elaphus) is incorrect. They're neither grain eaters nor attack creatures because they consider them food,

Monster Manual - Beetle, Giant Rhinoceros
"This uncommon monster inhabits tropical and subtropical jungles. They roam these regions searching for fruits and vegetation, crushing anything in their paths."

My current WIP: one big beetle boi. This is basically the last step before line-art and color, I don't do many sketches

Quote with your current WIP, continue the chain, lest the ouroboros die here!

Monster Manual - Beetle, Giant Fire
"Fire beetles have two glands above their eyes and one near the back of their abdomen which give off a red glow. For this reason they are highly prized by miners and adventurers,"

Monster Manual - Beetle, Giant Boring
"These creatures are individually not of much greater intelligence than others of their kind, but it is rumored that groups develop a communal intelligence which generates a level of consciousness and reasoning ability approximating that of the human brain."

The hippalectryon is so named because it has a horse-like front half and a rooster-like back half. This flightless relative of the pegasus is one of the primary grazers of the Antarctic steppe, and gathers in great numbers during spring to lek. Dwarfs call it "kjukhross".

Monster Manual - Beetle, Giant Bombardier
"If this beetle is attacked or disturbed there is a 50% chance each melee round that it will turn its rear towards its attacker(s) and fire off an 8' X 8' X 8' cloud of reeking, acidic vapor from its abdomen."

Monster Manual - Beaver, Giant
I posted about it on deviantart, but I've been growing fed-up with the Bestiary and wanted to return to the 70's Monster Manual. Which I never posted here because I discontinued the series before I made a bsky account. Aerial Servant - Bear, Cave, can be found below:

Bestiary - Satyr

I can spill much more ink on satyrs. If I allowed myself, the entire page could be text. But, that may have to wait for another day. Also, no fauns. I prefer satyrs in their classical appearance rather than goat bois
