People will log onto bluesky and say anything. “My Nazi friend is very trustworthy” no he’s not. That’s not true.

Married her yesterday.
I asked my girlfriend if there was anything she wanted from the store and the first thing she asked was, “how is our cheese situation.” I’m going to marry this woman.

Farmworkers in Oxnard, CA are harvesting marigolds just in time for #DiaDeLosMuertos. The marigold is sometimes called Flor de Muerto (“Flower of the Dead”). These flowers are thought to attract the souls of the dead to the offerings and ensure eternal peace.

You would be kicked out of any writer’s room in existence if you had the villains celebrating a Great Gatsby-themed party while taking away food benefits from millions of poor people.
I hope someone forgets to tell them that every exit is also an entrance, lol.
I am gonna *die mad* that this man "legally" cannot be president. NYC, our loss is your gain.

This is the most important thing to understand right now.

But now she has 175 million dollars worth of private jets so problem solved.
Yet in 2010, Noem—then a congressional candidate—had “20 speeding tickets, three stop-sign violations, two seat-belt violations and a citation for driving with no driver’s license.” She had six court notices for failing to appear, and had two warrants out for her arrest. trib.al/uQSDaqR
ICE Barbie Says Immigrants Are Too Dumb to Drive Semitrucks
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made the inane claim while bragging about arresting immigrant truck drivers.

Same issue as with capital pushing labor. They seem to forget that the NLRB, unions, etc. were a compromise to keep *both* sides safe.

Yes, I know that's what they want.

I just don't think the goons dishing this out have realized that this grand plan might end up with one of them sacrificing themselves to a furious mob.

Do you know what's harder than losing your home? Losing hope of ever getting it back.
I tried, I tried a lot with people.
I begged them to donate for our lives and dignity, to no avail.

Perhaps we don't deserve to live with dignity like the rest of humanity.

Today is World Vegan Day! If you are concerned about climate change, reducing meat and dairy in your diet is one of the most powerful individual actions you can take.

"The effect of our modern meat production on the environment is truly terrifying." Jane Goodall news.janegoodall.org/2017/04/28/w...
Why I Went Plant-Based (And Why We Should All Eat Less Meat)
Dr. Goodall went plant-based after confronting what that meat represents: pain. Since, she learned more reasons why the work to #eatmeatless is important.

When I got out of college, I rented a room in my buddy’s double-wide. He was a firefighter. I was a firefighter. I made $26,000 that year and had 0 kids. He had 3 kids, 2 jobs, rented out a room - and still needed food stamps to make ends meet and put good food on the table for the kids.
As SNAP hangs in the balance for nearly 42 million people, misinformation is rampant. Myths of laziness and fraud persist when we should be talking about too low wages for workers, income inequality, and our threadbare social safety net.

In this guest post, Adam Chandler sorts fact from fiction:
SNAP benefits feed essential needs while still leaving many hungry for more
Journalist and author Adam Chandler explains what so much of the conversation about them gets wrong.

Hello, I’m from Gaza.
We’re living through hell
homes destroyed, memories erased, loved ones gone. Even the innocence of our children has been shattered.
Every bit of help—even a small donation—could save a life or rekindle a flicker of hope.

Thank you for remembering Gaza 😢🙏

If a business throws food away rather than giving it to their employees or people in need, they should pay a massive fine.

I mean more than the profit from the food if they sold it. We should ruin any business vile enough to throw away surplus and let people go hungry.
Nobody in the most prosperous time in human history should starve, and we should all treat anyone who suggests otherwise as a danger.
If you want or need SNAP benefits, literally the only barrier should be...signing up.

"But what about fraud?" My sibling in red, white, and blue, THE PENTAGON HASN'T PASSED AN AUDIT IN YEARS AND MONEY IS FAKE. I don't care if too many people have food assistance.

I've been anti-death penalty for awhile because I don't think the Government is competent enough to wield it

But I also believe in the extrajudicial summary execution of Nazis. So there's a bit of tension given how many of them now occupy our Government

I've been horrified my entire life by stories about guillotines and throwing people off cliffs and such, but even I think Mussolini and Gaddafi had it coming, and the last year has definitely given me a lot of food for thought about where the line is where it's reasonable to go "yeah, fuck 'em."

Actually this tweet is perfect because the torment nexus tweet is about completely missing the point of literature, and in this case the literature is the torment nexus tweet
"Torment Nexus" comes from this tweet and is often used now to describe the kind of negative experiences you can have with social networks, like getting dogpiled or harassed or being pushed into conflict

Does she deserve all this suffering?
For the sake of humanity, don’t leave her alone.

You can’t even use SNAP to buy a hot rotisserie chicken unless you live in a state with a special waiver.
ROB SCHMITT: People are using SNAP benefits to get their nails done, to get their weaves and their hair. This is a really ugly program.

SEN. RON JOHNSON: That program needs to be dramatically reformed.
