my wife and i are selling our house and buying a new one and there's a lot of extra costs and shit that comes with that but i surprisingly haven't been stressing about money, so today she took the dog to the vet where they said he needs a $7000 surgery and that was the last straw, apparently

Tangentially related - I was watching Batman '66 recently and I remarked about how weird it was that Bruce took in Dick Grayson as his ward, but also Dick's aunt Harriet. Like why wouldn't she just adopt Dick?
Then my wife pointed out it was the 60s and she couldn't even get her own credit card.
