We have had so many fireflies in the yard this year. They are beautiful.
Fireflies glow when luciferin, a chemical in their abdomen, reacts with the enzyme luciferase and oxygen, producing light.

Put down 24 bags of mulch, 3 wheelbarrows of compost, 6 bales of soil, yesterday. Also removed the minimal weeds (thanks, fall me) and planted some flowers. Rainy long weekends actually make great gardening days.

I honestly forget about this place for weeks at a time. Social media in general holds so little interest for me, anymore. Loving my life though!
