Hello, Detroit!🏙️ In roughly 15 minutes, I will be covering the public meeting of the Board of the Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation.

You don't want to miss this so grab a chair 🪑for this public meeting held in Detroit, Michigan today.
I've been there 3 times myself, but was either marching or just viewing the institution outside.

Also cool to see the Smithsonian museums and the Libraries of Congress as someone not originally from the DMV area.

(plus, the White House).

⚖️👨‍⚖️Pretty cool first-account of going inside to view arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS/SupCt), and the lottery process to get there:

All you ever wanted to know about the Supreme Court lottery
I’ve never been a fan of the lottery.  In fourth grade, I pooled together my chore money (a grand total of $6), handed it over to my dad, and started […]

ℹ️Did you know there is a pictorial of the U.S. Congress available online? It is published by the General Printing Office (GPO): contains the name of each Congressperson, party affiliations, and congressional district. It's on GOVINFO.GOV.

ℹ️❌Pathetic waste of money, considering the NICKEL 🪙 costs more to manufacture than the penny, but GO OFF 😏

www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

Stopping penny production - absent ANY federal guidance - is actually hurting U.S. small businesses.
US Treasurer: My two cents? By getting rid of pennies, America is putting taxpayers first.
At the Treasury Department, we respect tradition. However, tradition in and of itself is not sufficient to justify ongoing losses.

Sad that 2023 federal data is the latest reliable data we will get for the foreseeable future.
The large majority of food stamp (SNAP) recipients in America are children and the elderly.

Among all adults who rely food stamps, a large share are disabled (10%) or taking care of dependents. Of those who aren't, a majority are working in jobs that just don't pay very much.
