It's crass, but I'm asking for a small favor. I'm applying for a grant to help possibly turning the flash fiction conthology into an actual, physical book. If I get about 30 more followers on BSKY, I can truthfully say I have at least 1k followers on every big platform.

An old black and white photograph of my Great Grandad. A pacifist, he died aged 26 pulling back a fallen soldier in his duties as a St. John Ambulance paramedic. Sadly, a mortar hit, killing him, but saving the soldier he pulled back. He was awarded posthumous medals, and letters from his commanding officers to his wife and baby son spoke of a man of honour, diligence, integrity and great leadership. A photograph taken at RHS Rosemoor, of a metal statie soldier standing amongst tall metal, red poppies, holding a rifle in one hand and a poppy posy in the other. His head is bowed in remembrance of his comrades. A photograph taken from underneath a red poppy against a black and white background of sky. The poem below is taken from "For The Fallen" by Laurence Binyon. THE PROJECTS THREAD

I have one of these elsewhere, which I'm not ready to leave behind yet, so I'm starting a new one here for the future.

I record all my arty-farty attempts as proof to myself that I tried. Creativity (when my brain lets me) is good for my mental health, which I battle with.
A card painted in bright watercolours, from the top left corner going from blue to purple, to hot pink, to orange to yellow. In the centre is a heart shape with a white border, and the inner heart is coloured reddish pink. Around the whote border are written the words, "Memories fade, the birds end their songs, the stars cease to shine, Love endures forever". I made it as a sympathy card for a friend whose husband died after a long and traumatic battle with dementia.

Halloween's nearly here!

I've been getting lights ready for tomorrow's possible trick or treaters. This year, I've gone for... CAT PUMPKIN! I just tried to think of a way to make that sound like it's a Thing, but only came up with, & immediately stopped at, "Cumpkin". 🤦‍♀️ Pussy Pumpkin?
