OMG I was this many years old when I discovered g&t with preserved lemons and holy shit! Next level!
OK, introducing the mark 1 Adam inkle loom, an adaptation of the Bradley loom, but without the paddle tensioner. Went with the 4 bars on the front. If I need to I can always remove it. Need to sand the shuttles a little more, but think tomorrow I'm going to take it for a test weave. Wish me luck :)
Anyone use an inkle loom? Looking for advice on strutt placement. I made holes for 4 on the front upright, but am worried they will be too close together for easy winding /loading of the weft. I could leave it out and try it a bit before gluing it in, or make it an optional/removable bar. Thoughts?
It's like #Zoku (ice moulds) and #BrassMonkey (portable fridge/freezer) are collaborating! #DadsLife
That or I've broken her already.
Love it that my daughter (7) either understands the world, or me, enough that when we're discussing dinner options she will say I'd this this & this, but if they don't work I'd be ok with this.. Approaching everything with a plan B seems like a great resilience strategy to grow up with. #DadsLife
Wow, turns out I literally can get an Airbnb cheaper in Taupō for a night. Wtf is going on?
Wtf! $138 a night for a campsite (unpowered) in Taupō over the school holidays? When did a patch of grass get more expensive than a rural air b and b!?
Late to party, just finished#Sense8. Holy shit what a gr8 show. I always loved vintage SciFi for how it shone a light on the oddities of humanity. This does it more than anything I've watched for years. Fab repping of trans, bi, gay characters. #GreatShow www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/sense8
What's your point? I think thats consistent with what others are saying. It won't stop a determined attack, but it will encourage focus on softer targets, usually put off less determined/experienced thieves, and at least get video evidence! :) police themselves usually say don't intervene.
Just another good principle to think about is mixing lock types. Each lock type has certain vulnerabilities. Like angle grinder or bottle jack for D locks, bolt cutters for chains. Mix them up and they need a truck and more time for the hacking kit ;) add an alarm & it all adds pressure.
I understand that there are other versions but I liked these and they werent a bad price direct from the supplier. I've been using them for about 4 years so pretty much a q time investment. In fact 1 thing about good locks is they last! hexlox.com
I use hexlox to secure the wheels to the frame (they cant be unbolted) which makes it easier to the just be securing wheels to something immovable. I only use the hiplocks for securing my panniers (although mine sound lighter than yours, they're too short for a belt)
I also have a tile hidden on the bike, but there are more custom bike specific GPS trackers coming into NZ these days too. It does depend a bit on what they're buying, which is why I like the % guide, but your ebike often becomes your baby & having it stolen hurts.
I encourage 5-10%bike value on locks. Secure your wheels with thru axles & something like hexlox to stop them being removed. I like something that makes noise so use a alarm D lock in combo with cafe lock and chain 90% of time. I have a floor D bolt in garage for when away extended.
Not a fan of the key matching since I broke a key found they'd changed the style of key they used for that lock (had to replace the Cafe lock) and it would have meant replacing all the bolts on all the locks. If you get it included sure, but I have 3 locks plus battery locks, hard to get alignment.
I'm a fan of the Cafe lock / chain combo too. It's my most reliable method of security to something stationary. My preference is always to have two points of lock min. I have an abus granite folding lock that I've had for like 6 years as my first lock & recently added an oxford alarm D lock.
M7's been working on a doll house/room on & off 4 ages. Today she focused on toilet & associated taputapu. The attention 2 detail & creativity blows me away. The toilet brush is super cute, the spare toilet roles cracked me up. Then she wanted the clay... Why? To make little poos! OMG! ;) #DadsLife
Ā few weeks ago M7 and I were testing out the new pompom tools we'd ordered. She loved them & made a whole series. A couple of days later one broke & there were tears. Today we tried to repurpose the yarn and there were hysterics 'it was my first pompom! You CANT have it!'. The intensity of feeling!
Curious on tips from seperated peeps. What are your tips (perhaps mental & self behavioral i.e what did You do) for when things were hot (vitrolific) between you both? Double points (perhaps only points) if you had/have kids together.
That's fair. That's not a cargo bike. It's weird, they have a great suburban family vehicle but keep trying to sell it to ute and small truck owners. Know your market mofos.
That's not a bad thing to throw yourself in front of.
Peter, I don't know who you are... But you're on our shopping list.
Just poked my head outside and was like woah, the world's gone orange. Almost tempted to jump on the bike and head up Maungarei to see the world on fire.
