I beat Half Life 2 and its episodes for the first time this past week and can NOT believe the level of cliffhangery BS Valve left fans with for 20 years. It’s seriously like if the first two Matrix movies came out, were huge successes, and then Revolutions just never happened.

tetsuya mizuguchi truly, earnestly believes, with his whole heart and whole mind, that generic vocal trance from 2003 has the power to awaken humanity's shared consciousness and guide us to universal peace. The strength of his conviction is so powerful that it might actually cause this to be true

Now that I’m a father, 50 hours of playtime feels a lot more expensive than it used to. I still play like a fiend, but I will now freely drop games if my time feels like it’s being wasted/spent compulsively.

Look, Zelda is great but it might not be YOUR great game. Maybe it’s Minecraft, IDK.

So you’re telling me Pokemon Legends: Z-A has a real time battle system and takes place within the confines of a single city?

Ghost of Tsushima was my favorite 2020 game but Yotei isn’t hitting me the same way yet. I played 40 hours of AC Shadows (which has a pretty similar premise) in February and the action isn’t quite clicking the way other recent samurai sword games are.

Hades II is insanely good. Writing, upgrade systems, everything fully taken up a notch. And it’s supposedly like double the size of the first one???

Sam, this is Bank Spendman. You can use your credit card at Burger King to get that Whopper you're craving.
Hideo Kojima announced a Kojima Productions credit card with MUFG Bank!

He said when he started Kojima Productions no banks wanted to give him a loan but the President of MUFG bank was a big fan of Kojima and knew he could trust him from playing all the Metal Gear Solid games!

I think Silksong is great but the friction is just high enough that I don’t constantly feel the urge to jump back in.

I don’t mean straight difficulty either…I’m doing fine with boss fights and platforming. The long corpse runs/charging for save points is getting to me.

My second novel, A Frightening God, is now available on Kindle and in paperback!

Kindle: amazon.com/Frightening-...
Paperback: amazon.com/Frightening-...

It's a weird, fun sci-fi story about a kid who goes on a journey to meet his maker.

Novel 2 text complete (7 drafts!!!), ebook ready to go, just making sure the author proof is in good shape before I put everything on sale. Basically comes down to picking the right paper and making sure the cover (lil preview below) is aligned right.

Hopefully a week or two! LFG!!!

It would not be hyperbolic to say Weapons made me feel new emotions I’m not sure I’ve felt in a movie theater before.

@superpac.bsky.social I just tried Lumines Remastered on a plane ride and its use of HD Rumble (thumping to the beat) is one of the coolest applications of the tech I’ve seen on Switch. If you guys do something similar with Arise/Dualsense that would be very awesome.

@nwrdonald.bsky.social Just got through the spa escape in Kaname Date. How far would you say I am?

I’m in a weird place with this one where I thought the original two games were really amazing, and while I like this one too I’m struggling a bit to stay motivated to blast through it.

One of the few positive side effects of the pandemic causing so much havoc in the games industry is that it (at least partially) led to the creation of a lot of really great remasters/partial remakes.
Remasters of games make old games more accessible to new players (and make it easier for old fans to replay them). And more often than not, remasters help fund new games. They're not taking funds from new games or preventing new games from being made.

Really zigzagging on Donkey Kong Bananza. I’m having SO much fun with the destruction tech and the DK/Pauline characters. Other elements like environmental design, low difficulty, and how certain systems work make this feel like a B-grade Odyssey sequel more than a new vision for Donkey Kong. Iunno
