Let's get as many eyes on this as possible.
so hey, I know I am always advocating shop indie and small business. But we REALLY need to stay the fuck away from Walmart.

They're selling literal Nazi merch online.

This is the reality we are living in.
Jesus fuck.

I will be calling 1-800-WALMART
(1-800-925-6278) multiple times a day every day.

Oh, hey. Happy #N7Day everyone! I love hitting the tag and looking through the art; this franchise has one of the chillest fanbases I can think of.

this is critical to what we mean when we say laws are fake.

it’s not that they won’t be enforced, it’s that they’ll be enforced unevenly and vindictively because laws are just manifestations of state power.

Adolph Hitler, one of the most infamous fascists of the 20th century, was inspired by the American Eugenics Movement.

Eugenics promotes this exact type of destruction of those viewed as inferior.

Educate yourself on fascism and eugenics.
That Trump and Trumpism are fascist doesn’t explain the sheer vandalism of unleashing mass murdering mayhem via RFK to replace medical/scientific institutions of immense value and prestige with medieval peasant superstitions. That is a criminal madness facilitated by but above and beyond fascism.

I couldn't have come up with a better, more concise phrasing if I was deliberately coming up with an ad campaign to get authors to sign onto this class action lawsuit.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

It took me all of 30 seconds to go through and see that almost every single mainline Disney animated feature violates at least one (and most multiple) of these explicit rules, and that's without including the "or any other media or activities including, but not limited to" clause.
Make sure to call Visa before making any purchase and ask if it would bring them disrepute, just to be safe.

The endless uncritical stanning of Gavin Newsome and calling anyone who critiques him as a problem is such a damn microcosm of my problems with institutional politics.

Terry Pratchett, again as ever, cutting to the very core of society with razor wit.
"People as things, that’s where it starts.” “Oh, I’m sure there are worse crimes—” “But they starts with thinking about people as things…”

The arc of history is long but it bends all the way to a Supreme Court controlled by foaming ideologues like Robert Bork AND a Justice Department controlled by lawless goons like Robert Bork; this is all the fault of liberals, not of the patrons, friends, and allies of Robert Bork
If your story about what they did to Robert Bork doesn't start with Robert Bork in Nixon's bunker for Watergate then your story is revisionist horseshit

When this passes, I guarantee that both being trans in public and being openly gay will soon be legally defined as pornographic quite quickly.

This needs to sit with the left-handed graph in terms of cultural awareness.
Remember this image every time someone tells you that protesters are "hurting their cause."

Those people are the red bars. In 40 years, we'll look back at them the same way.

It's a frustrating miniaturization of American life right now that, in order to get to either my clinic or my therapist, I have to drive directly past JD Vance's house. And since he's been in residence for the last several days, all the roads there are closed meaning a 20ish minute detour each way.

What professional historians never tell you, perhaps because they have become used to it, is how much of learning history involves profound grief.

Not just in the way you expect: atrocities, war, plagues

But over and over again, the anguish at lost potential better futures/versions of our present.
Never forgive men for treating programming as a meaningless thing your secretary did while women were inventing and developing the field, then, once they realized it was going to be important, shoving women out of it and claiming only Male Logic Brains could perform it.
Gaslight of the century that we made programming totally inaccessible to huge portions of the population and now we're told that the reason is programming can only emerge from the innate genius of the brilliant few
