Good to see another road safety campaign both informed by actual research and targetting the source of the danger on the public highway.

👀 Can you see me now?

The importance of visibility on our roads cannot be understated, particularly for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter drivers and motorcyclists.

Being off work, dog's walk times have all slipped back a bit.

Twice I have seen a mum and her three daughters cycling, presumably on nursery/school trips.

Youngest ~4. Oldest ~8.

Total admiration from me. Especially with the youngest riding her own bike.

Even in car-centric places it's possible.

Who, earning the NL Wage, can afford an EV?

Never mind the shaky set of assumptions this budget is based on. Inflation receding to 2%? Not likely.

Interest rates forecast to remain high. Investment (corporate and public) remaining low.

The façade depicting stability will give out before long.
How will changes in the Budget impact different types of households?

Car manufacturers are banks, or rather lenders, that just happen to sell cars.

Bigger margins on the finance than the cars themselves.

I don't think they actually like it when customers roll up and buy them outright. At least not in my experience.
Almost nobody driving a car can afford it either: they're all financed up to the eyeballs and held to ransom every 5 years to either make a massive balloon payment on a now-worthless car, or trade it in and restart the cycle with another new car 😂

I am so sick of this lie being sold to the public. It's economically illiterate. Yes indeed we DO have a magic money tree. We're a sovereign nation.

Energy companies should be nationalised and profit should be taken out of the equation.

Privatise energy companies making £billions in profit as the less well off freeze is not okay.

As for reducing energy costs for manufacturers - more corporate welfare from Labour.

Email address validation should support sub (plus) addressing.

People who don't understand '[email protected]' is a valid email address should not be allowed to implement validation on web forms.

Hell riding a non e-town-bike at a decent pace is enough to get tarred as an e-biker by the ignorant IME.
Something I've been thinking about a lot lately is how when a driver does something wrong, the public and media don't smear all drivers as reckless assholes. But when a cyclist — and especially an e-biker — does something wrong, all bicyclists get attacked and blamed.

Active travel and public transport should be the defacto modes.

Driving is the alternative.

Lets stop calling active travel and public transport alt travel.

So in some not news, this week I shall hopefully become a Zwifter.

I start a new job soon, which means being on call one week in three.

This means I can be on call and still get the miles in.

Going to celebrate by going for a pootle on the town bike.

More people should have proper hifi and spend more time consciously listening to music.

The world would be a better place for it.

Capping the value of the cycle to work scheme achieves one solitary objective.

It reinforces a false narrative.

That is it.
