Agree, and I resent politicians who do not realize that government subsidy food programs may not be enough to keep people fed until the end of the month. My mother would either not eat or sell her blood to keep her children fed at the end of the month. The rich get richer......

All of you who think anyone on SNAP is scamming the government, remember, 38.9% of the SNAP recipients are children just as I and my siblings were when we were on government food assistance.

When I was older, I remember being in the kitchen of a friend's house as she opened a can of dog food with meat chucks in it. It looked just like that government canned mystery meat. Then the smell hit me. It smelled like it too and I felt nauseous. Did the government feed us dog food?

Government cheese from the time period when my father would walk out on us and we had to go on welfare. This cheese, powdered milk and big gold cans of mystery meat with a very distinctive odor are what the government would hand out.
