My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

~1.5 million people in Georgia rely on SNAP benefits— 50,000 veterans. Hundreds of veterans in Atlanta experience homelessness. Veterans face urgent gaps in care.

On #VeteransDay, governments must not just use veterans in profile photos, but commit to them through more effective public policy. 🇺🇸

Key lessons from last week's elections:
1) voters want candidates to be fighters - fight for what you believe
2) policy should be community specific. What works in NYC is not the same as West Texas
3) candidates should be a part of the community not the establishment

It has been just 7 days since Dems and Progressives won big at the polls (feels like a lifetime i know) but I think it's worth following up on the races I was watching. (a thread)

1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

BREAKING: The Supreme Court granted the Trump administration's request to enforce its discriminatory passport policy while our lawsuit makes its way through the courts.

This decision undermines the freedom of transgender, non-binary, and intersex people to have our IDs reflect who we are.

I'm living in a timeline where a priest is cross examined for being shot in the head with pepper balls and a lawyer is being tried for hucking a sandwich.

This feels entirely surreal.

If you're a young person, find your people are try stuff. You don't know how it will turn out AND THAT'S A GOOD THING. Failure is a natural part of living. Not something to be scared of. Try shit. Don't sit back and throw stones at others who are trying shit.

Abortion rights, voting rights, and free speech were on the ballot and Pennsylvania voters knew it.

I cannot begin to tell you how incredible and important this is.
With hefty leads in early returns, state and national Democrats declare victory flipping Georgia’s two Public Service Commission seats. The Democratic sweep would give the party its first statewide wins in nonfederal elections since 2006. #gapol

This is a new low. We just learned that the President is once again REFUSING to fund SNAP despite a court order to do so.

He’s literally holding hungry children hostage to gain political leverage. It's craven and deeply immoral.
