Eastern Australian humpback whale population now well above pre-whaling levels, report finds - ABC News 🦑🧪🌎
These whales were hunted to 150 individuals. Now there's 50,000 of them
Once hunted almost to extinction, the population of humpback whales currently migrating down Australia's east coast has bounced back and is now greater than before whaling.

A strong wind, a hay field in NB, a recently-turned 7yo enjoying summer, and a kite made out of a garbage bag, duct tape, bailer twine, and an old sheet made for a perfect summer day.

It's really too bad people are falling for the distraction of bike lanes. Like I said, there are some people, including those in power, who create drama and drag everyone into it but they have other motives. You all personally know people like this. Don't fall for the drama, #Halifax.

Dave Green at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge told me about his colormap "cubehelix". It solves the problem that many color maps use hues like green/yellow for mid values, which appear brighter than red used for high values. Is anyone using cubehelix? 🌊🧪
