The city could handle this station like they handled the brown line rehab 15 years ago. Make the platforms bigger and add elevators. $400 million vanity projects do not enhance the rider experience if the trains come every 15-20 min on the weekend. Run more trains

MASSIE: No. They're flouting the spirit and the letter of the law. It's very troubling the posture that they've taken.

Hahahaha “self driving”
At least five FUBARed Waymo robots:

Market & Guerrero, SF

One is a problem, two a mistake, five a major ops screw up. Waymo has never fixed their cascading failure problem. Maybe they don't know how.

Fundamentally unfit for service at scale until they do, IMO.

Everyone knew this was BS to begin with — Trump and his cronies actively want to harm Chicago. How would removing public transit money make anyone safer? And where is the law that says Chicago even has to do this? blockclubchicago.org/2025/12/19/c...
City Beefs Up Police Presence At CTA Stations, But Feds Still Threaten To Withhold $50 Million
The CTA met a federal deadline to boost security, but the Trump administration called the plan “materially deficient,” giving the agency another 90 days to add more muscle or lose millions.

This admin has a lot of rhetoric for people they don’t like. And is unwilling to compromise too. Great combo
Pat Dowell is an influential and respected member of the City Council. Asked about Mayor Brandon Johnson's recent rhetoric at budget critics, she said: “I don’t know what ‘morally bankrupt’ means. If you can explain that to me, I’ll answer the question.”

How can you tell they are lying?

They are opening their mouths
Border Patrol called cops on this man and claimed he was trying to ram them. The man denied it to CPD and in a Tribune interview. He was let go. The livestream video doesn’t show the man attempting to ram anyone on LSD
In Chicago, a man on Facebook Live was following the Border Patrol north on Lake Shore Drive. At the end of the drive, a bunch of city cop cars cut off the man who was following and live-streaming Border Patrol.

We have popular consensus on many gun safety measures but a democracy problem preventing passage. So long as one party (insulated by gerrymandering) remains in the thrall of a paranoid anti-government cult allergic to social responsibility, we will be stuck in the endless loop of death and paralysis
the gun lobby only partially accounts for failure to enact national common sense gun laws. We cannot ignore the role played by a reactionary ideology antithetical to US progress and reform, badly ignorant of our history and dependent on judicial fiat to get its way.

Don’t worry, far Northwest-siders! Your NIMBY aldermen will still find ways to ensure those vacant lots near transit sites sit unused! Looking at you, Jeff Park.
It’s official! Today, Gov. Pritzker signed the NITA Act, which funds Illinois transit and provides Chicagoland with a central agency to plan, fund, and deliver a world-class transit system. The bill also removes mandatory parking minimums within a half-mile of major transit hubs!

Technically, two CVSes closed. There was also one at the bottom of the inside ramp to Ogilvie on N Riverside Plaza. It closed earlier this year.

Pharmacists are very expensive, and both CVS and Walgreens are very mismanaged at the moment. Don’t expect a reopening.
Yikes. The CVS in Ogilvie closed shortly after the pandemic started but has their lease on the space through *2034*. Since then “West Loop Gate” or whatever we’re calling the strip between the River and the Kennedy has become a pharmacy desert. www.chicagobusiness.com/commercial-r...

They passed and signed the NITA act! Stable transit funding is a good thing.

And they have until 2030 to implement what Ventra should have done in the first place: “All fares are collected and managed through a single, integrated system”
