The referee would have stepped in by now but they had knocked him out with a steel chair. The only others watching were either fascists themselves or the people trying to fight fascism with the power of love and kindness and they weren’t having a great go of it either. I kept trying to explain in between haymakers that we were better than this and on top of that it wasn’t likely to be ruled on favorably as far as the courts. None of it helped. I was on my knees now bleeding profusely from the mouth and nose. It spilled out of me onto the snow in a pattern that if you sort of squinted at it from the right vantage looked like a cartoon heart. See that I pointed. Look how beautiful the world can be I tried to say through my broken teeth. Alright well now he was pulling out a gun. I didn’t think we were allowed do that.

This indicates that voters are reacting to media narratives, not their own experience.

"For now" in "AI" means "never".

If you've never been to Gaza, you won't appreciate what the yellow line means. Basically Israel now holds most of Gaza's small but important agricultural land. Continued Israeli occupation, which I judge the likely outcome, makes Gaza even more unliveable and more dependent on outside goods.

"the mercy of gods" von den "the expanse" autoren fand ich auch super, kommt anfäng nächsten jahres auch die fortsetzung raus. dann noch prinzipielle empfehlung für "the dispossessed" und "the left hand of darkness" von ursula k le guin (würd ich auch in der reihenfolge lesen)

für fiction bisl wilder mix dieses jahr. "a psalm for the wild-built" und "a prayer for the crown-shy" sind quasi eine story, und eif eine ganz liebe und wholesome scifi geschichte. "a morbid taste for bones" ist bissl "name of the rose + akte x"-mäßig, sehr spaßiges buch und top herbst comfort read

bei non-fiction würd ich "value of a whale" (klimakollaps & neoliberalismus), "blood in the machine" (industr revo, ludditen, ki), "invisible women" (geschlechterneutralität im (neo)liberalismus), und "october" (erzählung der russ revolution) empfehlen. "jakarta method" hast du vllt schon gelesen?
