My colleagues & I have taken a huge gamble to set up @thenerve.news We’re trying to build a new independent publication from the ground up. Social media is our only distribution for now.

Sharing this article in your networks would make a huge difference. Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
NEW: The British politician, his Russian intelligence handler & a Kremlin plot against the US & Ukraine.

My new piece about Nathan Gill and Nigel Farage for @thenerve_news in which we ask:

Why, even now, is no-one asking questions?

We've seen how a Trump administration has taken over scientific bodies, so independent research is suppressed if its findings aren't what he wants, and outputs just become govt propaganda. Could the same thing happen here, if a future PM wanted to do the same? Important analysis ⬇️
🧵🚨

The UK’s independent scientific bodies are highly vulnerable to politicisation - over the past 5 months I've been working with @martinmckee.bsky.social to map out their vulnerabilities and it's not good news.

Today our report is published!

Can we just stop giving him a platform to spew this populist crap - have you not noticed what’s going on in the US? He’s pushing the same divisive rhetoric as Trump
Extremely worrying and I wish the BBC would stop giving him a platform to spew his garbage

Interesting and troubling report/thread here on vulnerability of scientific bodies to politicisation, something the public do not want and is not in there interest but could happen nonetheless if politicians with selective or hostile views on science and evidence were in charge

All worthless anyway as this is an interview with the woman who previously was found to have made multiple false statements UNDER OATH and failed to take responsibility for her actions according to the prosecutors and the judge who oversaw her 2021 trial and was convicted of sex trafficking minors.
Says the woman who was found to have made multiple false statements under oath and failed to take responsibility for her actions according to the prosecutors and the judge who oversaw her 2021 trial and was convicted of sex trafficking minors.
Doesn’t she have previous for lying under oath?

Border Patrol says he was at the red mark, 65 feet south of the border, when he "made an abrupt starboard turn and struck the port bow of the Coast Guard small-boat," causing him to capsize.

He says that's ridiculous, he was in Canadian waters and was going to shore to talk when they hit him.

Trump: It looks like it’s about $3.1 billion

Powell: I’m not aware of that.

Trump: It just came out

Powell: You just added in a third building

Trump: It’s a building that’s being built

Powell: It was built five years ago.

Tear gas can cause long-term health consequences by making people more susceptible to contracting respiratory illnesses, including COVID.

The chemical agent can also hurt people inside their homes if it seeps into residential neighborhoods. What you need to know (published 2020):
Tear Gas Is Way More Dangerous Than Police Let On
