In the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Rosalina fights Megaleg. However, the real Megaleg from the game is much larger than one would expect and would have made Rosalina almost impossible to see when zoomed out. The size of the one in the movie is closer to Digga-Leg.

Nintendo released the most unfortunate combo of Air Riders character and background icon elements this week.

The basement wall texture in Super Mario 64 doesn't tile vertically, meaning you can see it repeat near the Lethal Lava Land painting because it didn't account for the ceiling sloping upwards.

This bothers me immensely /j /lh

In one of the prototype versions of Yoshi's Island, the Baby Mario handover process is unfinished and does not always work. The Yoshi that should be waiting at the end is missing, and the playable Yoshi simply throws Baby Mario onto the ground, making him crawl off by himself.

One of my fav tidbits about SM64's development is this (presumably) early Big Boo's Haunt, where like 4 Mr. Is are spammed in the same corner. For a long time only a low resolution background capture of this scene existed, and most ppl blamed the multiple Mr. Is on video ghosting.

In Super Mario Sunshine, the differences between surfing Bloopers are presented as a tradeoff between speed and handling, appearing to not have any clear advantage over each other. However, this is not true, and the green Blooper is actually OBJECTIVELY SUPERIOR to the other two.
