Flower child Grace is living that 'no Timmys, no wells, just vibes' life and would love to hitch a ride in your VW Bus. (Subarus are acceptable as well.)

Grace is one-third Golden Retriever and we believe that part is behind her belief that dog hair is her glitter, and Joni Mitchell is a goddess.

This litter abandoned as newborns at at a local vet has been in one of our dedicated foster homes ever since. (That’s Bubba on the right making them feel welcome when they were new arrivals.)

We got to see and snuggle them Thursday when they came in for their six-week vaccines and a weigh-in.

“Simone was my first foster fail from CHS in 2020. Little did I know before fostering how easily they steal your hearts.

“Now she is the ‘mama’ to every litter: grooming, cuddling, litter box training. And when the fosters leave she is so sad, as though raising kittens is her purpose in life.”

As we all start decorating for spooky season, please reconsider using artificial spiderwebs outdoors.

They may look delightfully creepy, but they're a known hazard for birds and other wildlife.

The owl pictured here was caught for several hours and ultimately saved.

Phoebe’s medium length, plush coat is absolutely stunning!

Pilot, a brand-new arrival, is about two years old. He’s a chihuahua mix but has a very un-chi personality. He’s friendly with everyone, including strangers; adores other dogs; and we have yet to hear him bark.

Pilot weighs eight pounds, a perfect size for your lap or a dog bag.

Happy, bouncy Gordy — just 16 pounds — came to us a matted mess. He had probably never been groomed in his life.

Gordy was exceptionally good for his spa treatment, and his coat came off as one heavy, stinky pelt. Gross, and sad, but SO satisfying to us shelter folks (IYKYK).

Alas, kitten season is still a Pretty Big Thing even with fall right around the corner.
