It shouldn’t take a slur that impacts you personally, or losing your healthcare or SNAP, or being forced to sell your farm, or having to watch a loved one get unjustly detained and deported...to walk away from a madman.

Cruelty isn’t strength.

Reject it.

Always.

Great piece by @tressiemcphd.bsky.social on Marjorie Taylor Greene, Donald Trump, and misogyny. Misogyny and racism over everything else in Trump’s world. And corruption, of course.
Gift link.

The reason I talk so much about Democrats in rural America is because it’s key to taking the country back.

We can’t wring many more blue votes out of the cities. Come back to rural spaces. Run for office. Contest every race.

This is the way.

The problem with ICE is not that it's targeting people who aren't criminals. The problem with ICE is that it's an unaccountable secret deportation police. It cannot be reformed under a better president. It can be made less terrible, but the instrument of repression remains for the next tyrant.

Another day, another TEN missed opportunities for the DNC to speak on behalf of Dems about the abomination of the day.

Mark Kelly shouldn’t have to defend himself alone.

The DNC, the national Dem PARTY should be speaking up for him and the other members of Congress all over the place.

Mark Kelly is my senator. I disagree with Senator Kelly a lot, but Hegseth's attacks are despicable.
It’s outrageous to watch Defense Secretary Whiskey Pete, a former Fox News weekend host with a long trail of questioned drinking and assault allegations, try to swiftboat Sen. Mark Kelly for reminding troops they must not obey illegal orders, because instead of dealing with that he chose to…

Wow — Senators Van Hollen, Smith, Murphy, Sanders, Warren, Markey, Merkley, Heinrich have created an official internal "Fight Club."

They're challenging Schumer & Gillibrand's leadership, arguing the party is using an old, corporate-friendly playbook insufficient to take on Trump or win elections.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.
