In my 20s I taught ISO 214:1976 (Abstracts).

That may be why I feel I have to share this: the French version of ISO 22989:2022 "Artificial intelligence concepts and terminology" is now available BUT the add on GENERATIVE AI still "in the enquire phase with ISO members"

This is AI. It's fake. It's fictional.

This is the new world of AI-Evangelism.

It's manipulative, disingenuous, and predatory.

It targets older, vulnerable people who won’t know the difference – aiming to convert through deception for views and ad revenue.

Together with "Penicillin Power", in which the protagonist is involved in a documentary about the hygiene hypothesis of autoimmune diseases, "The Patch" 👇 is available as an ebook

www.amazon.com/dp/B0FX5SFZTJ

or within the paperback edition of "The Blind Spot"
The Patch talks about youth resilience, the power and limits of different types of knowledge, 3 decades before the discovery that alopecia areata is an #autoimmunedisease.

It is written with lightness and precision. It's fiction, but it tells scientific truth.

Didn't I write "I wish the reader can find in any of the stories of The Blind Spot something to learn, a factual content, an idea to improve the quality of life, intertwined with entertaining characters and contexts..."?

A reader told me an idea for a sequel to "The Phantom Tonsils" 😂 Amazing! 😂

Amazing somebody I met in South London today still remembered me from when I tried to get funds for a project engaging with libraries, museums and archives, 15 years ago, and that article I wrote in 2018 in which I quoted Hal R Varian

Often for everybody with #Sjogrens, #hashimoto or any #Thyroid disease hypercholesterolaemia is not correctly framed and addressed.
My (grounded) opinion is that it should be disentangled from both myths of "familial" and "cardiovascular" and seen as a symptom of autoimmunity. Worth consideration.
Familial hypercholesterolaemia is still inadequately diagnosed and undertreated, with many affected people remaining at high risk of early cardiovascular disease www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

The Academy has repeatedly highlighted the links between social inequity, poor child health and lifelong impacts - making the case for both immediate support and systemic joined-up action to address structural inequalities.

I like the idea of occupational physical activity becoming a thing of the past when humanoids will be a competitive alternative in many industries.

Point is: who is going to pay for my knees replacements if #autoimmunedisease destroys my joints and I do not have enough income from my creative work?

We are still at a v early stage in understanding influence of LLM on research / knowledge / data management processes - and democracy altogether!

It is totally preposterous to expect AI helps content creators to make a living for several years to come.

A cultural paradigm shift must come first.

Looking forward to learning something from the specialists gathering for the @ukbiobank.bsky.social 2025 Conference - I will follow online.

Data on adverse childhood experiences as published this year have been very helpful for me to shape my short stories "The Blind Spot".
Following our latest update, the @ukbiobank.bsky.social dataset now offers the world's biggest collection of metabolomic data.

These biomarkers from half a million participant blood samples, provide researchers with a detailed picture of how the body processes energy and nutrients.

The most important rule in #selfcare with #autoimmunedisease for me is to always try to feel good!

Most days I succeed: it is hard work, but it is worth

I do not fight

I do not make wars with my body

I do not celebrate pain and illness

I learn something good every day, that is unique to me.

Interesting thread about fatigue a symptom that is extreme in many cases of ME/CFS but it is also present in any #autoimmunedisease - What surprises me is the lack of attention to hormones, vitamins and minerals levels
1) Reading this review on fatigue in other diseases: it's notable how it manifests early in the illness (often before diagnosis), how it's often poorly explained (correlates poorly with pathology markers), yet is reported to be one of the most disabling symptoms.
