I grew up on transit, bike, & work w/ ADAS transport. Everyone deserves good mobility options! Posts are my own & don't speak for my employer.

So far my Bar Mitts seem to be doing well. I'm wondering if by keeping my hands nice and toasty, they are keeping the rest of my body warmer too. 🤔

There sure are a lot of people here in the Strip for it to be dead after DOMI installed that bike lane 🤔

As a person of color AND as an urban cyclist, I couldn't agree more with this statement. #DOT #immigrants #CDLlaw

Also the changes, if not done carefully, can upend the trucking/shipping/public transportation industry.

This must not be influenced by racial prejudice.

This is so deeply at odds with the vision and history of America. Take pretty much any ethnic or racial group that are part of the American mosaic America today - they have all faced the same accusation. The moment these accusations are turned into policy are some of the most shameful in US history

I'm perplexed by some #Allentown officials that do not want T service full time. Demand is there! The presence of the T brought interest to the neighborhood. Diverting a couple Red Line trains per hr, renamed as Brown Lines, would serve the Hilltop w/ low cost.

Hey uphill Neville is car-free! #Pittsburgh. Bikes and pedestrians are permitted, which makes this dreadful hill much easier to manage...even when traffic opens up to cars again. #bikelife #BikePGH

Smart cities are transforming transportation, reducing emissions and public costs while adding more choice and improving quality of life. COMMON SENSE!

Smart infrastructure for public transit, walking & biking is a GREAT INVESTMENT. Fund it accordingly. #ActionStartsHere @mayors4climate.bsky.social

This is a good idea. A few years ago I interviewed three year round bicycle riders to find out what they wear in the winter. Their list may differ from yours or David's but is a good start. Check it out. e-bikekc.com/2019/11/06/b...

Appearing on the @copenhagenizers.bsky.social Index is an important milestone for Minneapolis! We've come a very long way *AND* we've got a lot more work to do.

The good news is that steadily we're making it happen. Culture and infrastructure don't happen overnight. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOYM...

Line 6 Finch West LRT is finally opening on December 7! After 4 years of delay, the new light rail will open and is expected to serve 40,000 transit riders.

But wait...where's Line 5, the Eglinton Crosstown?

Line 1, 2, 4, & 6? What is counting?

It's wild how many people don't understand this.
As a reminder if a traffic signal is out in PA, it’s a 4 way stop. Oakland still doesn’t have power and the motorcycle cops probably just made payroll for whole city in a few hours pulling people over.

Agreed. I don't think they have to wait until the Redesign is complete before implementing certain changes, tho. Revising the Busway Stop policies and adjusting schedules to maximize frequencies on shared corridors can start tomorrow.

Also, PRT needs to coordinate service w/ the suburban agencies!

Nice! PATH is infamous for officially naming photography of its system though.

I'd love to get and see more photographs as it is an interesting and beautiful system. Somewhere I have a PATH train Simulator game too!

A car-centric transportation system limits the ability to use other modes. A byproduct of this is that people who may not be able to drive any longer still drive because they have no alternative modes.

This, in turn, puts other road users (like pedestrians) in danger:

“In my work with cities, one of my messages that resonates most is that the truth about the cities aspirations isn’t found in its plans and visions. It’s found in its budget.

A budget may be the most powerful public policy lever a Council has, and the most authentic one because It reveals so much.”

Oh! I can make Bar Mitts work with my bike after all, despite all the gadgets I have up there!

Much to my delight it was pretty easy to install, so I don't have to "commit" to them all season. Hopefully now my fingertips won't freeze on the colder days! 🥶

And also, no single form of transportation is designed for every single person. That would be impossible. This is why designing streets for various transportation types is important.

Here I am, reading this as a person who, from birth to my mid teenage years, lived in a household without a car nor access to one.

And yes, my family traveled, got groceries, went to school/daycare, but it wasn't always easy because of the mindset that everyone has a car in our community.
This comment was posted on a letter to the editor about bike lanes.

"no one with a disability, injury, age related changes, or small children is going to not use a car. Those groups all need clear streets and access to good parking close to their destination. "

Don't be this person! /1

Inter alia, it says,"International students, faculty and staff should carry evidence of their immigration status with them at all times."
