It’s so nice to feel at home on the internet again!

Follow me if you’d never get tired of seeing Nintendo/indie/board games in your timeline. I post about other stuff, but that’s the bulk of it.

Getting stuck causes players to explore the world.

Dying causes players to think about what they're doing.

An "impossible" situation causes players to learn how the game works and eventually achieve the impossible.

We need to be able to design *some* games around these fundamental ideas.

i feel like in about about a year’s time AI art will become indistinguishable from mediocre art, with no easy tells, and i will find myself with a fond nostalgic longing for our AI slop era, where we could all see jt, and we would all laugh at it

Axiom Verge and Axiom Verge 2 are required experiences for everyone who has ever said they like Metroid or Metroidvanias.

Axiom Verge is closer to Super Metroid, and has immaculately creepy vibes. Axiom Verge 2 transcends comparison, and is a masterpiece in the genre.

And when you peed on it, the game doubled as a test to see if you were pregnant with a baby shark do-do-doodoodoo~
A forgotten curiosity of LCD gaming is Tiger STIX, super compact LCD games with unusual control mechanisms. In this one, Shark Bite, you would propel the shark by moving the yellow end forward and backward, and steer the shark up and down by twisting the other end, trying to avoid trash and eat fish

To heal our divided nation I propose splitting Game of the Year awards into two categories:

- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy
- Game of the Year That’s Some Gay Bullshit Indie Meditation on Grief or Whatever

It’s been many seasons since I touched this game, but it’s such a blast. Dare I say, it’s the ONLY game I ever bought cosmetics or battle passes from and did not regret my time long after. In fact, I miss it. Sea of Thieves is kind of a masterpiece of interaction design. So deeply fun.
Sea of Thieves Season 18: Return to The Devil's Roar begins on December 11th.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

Doctor Who doesn't need to be consistent. It's best to think of it as a TV roguelike. Every run is totally different. Very little hard continuity between adventures. Lead character acquires experience and unlocks new skins. Also, it's fucking shite.

This was the most affecting board game experience of my life, and I don’t see that ever changing. Although I know each person at the table had their own unique response, Dan does an incredible job here of putting words to it.
I don't know how to introduce this one. After three titles about opium peddling, I figured the rest of SDHistCon would be breezy by comparison. I was wrong. The next day, I experienced one of the toughest board games I've ever played. Perhaps *the* toughest. spacebiff.com/2025/11/24/u...
