So...is there a campaign to get off Salesforce and Slack? Slack is mid-enshittification anyway, and Salesforce -- was it ever not shitty? Add a dollop of brown nosing authoritarians and it's a really unappetizing mix.

I get that DC must be in a funk to end all funks, but there's no need to piss in NYC's cereal. We made it pretty clear: we're for treating people like human beings.
The Washington Post editorial board articles about Mamdani are actually disgusting. It’s hard to surprise me but my jaw dropped when they referred to him as “generalissimo” in the first paragraph.

Wow still catching up from the 20 years away from the software industry. Didn't know the 37Signals guy had turned into an initials-only-level celebrity, or that he'd imploded when faced with examining his ethics. The tech industry is wild, y'all.

Not only that but the IRA disproportionately located those jobs in red and purple states.

They thought it might make it harder to cut.
This right here, this exact sentence, is THE problem in American political journalism.

The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.

Hey New York:
Job #1: vote for Zohran
Job #2: vote YES on questions 2-5 to help him build housing
If you want Zohran to be able to build housing, vote YES on NY's housing ballot proposals.

I learned this weekend that it's apparently possible to canvas to vote him in, and also hamstring him on housing....

We should only help corporations that help people.

It's outrageous $200-400B /yr goes to corporate welfare.

Get off your fat taker asses.

Pay people a living wage.

Stop layoffs for padding returns.

Change your shitty governing documents.

We don't want you here if you don't work.

If this doesn't seem excessive and broken, I kinda feel like you might want embark on a journey of self discovery to see if you can find where you mislaid your common human decency.

Or up your therapy frequency.
Amazon just announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Every week 1-2 people in our immediate social circle, mostly but not exclusively genXers, gets laid off. Maybe we should buy a couple of these Nvidia machines and see what Us v3 or v4 will make of it?

One first step people should do to respond to this is start using the “report a speed trap” function in Apple Maps to report where ICE is operating. Make Apple party to the attempt to protect people.
