I think it's time to get a little bit organized with my #mcoc #ChampionRework posts.

This is going to be my Champion Rework Megathread.

Original #Avengers Champions:

I know there may not be too many #mcoc players on here yet, but I wanted to express some thoughts I have about their character designs for MCU original #Avengers Champions.

if Democrats cave for absolutely nothing I don't want to hear another conversation about how we make it the current party organization work ever again.

they will be fucking dead to me.

I don't care if we have to build a new coalition from absolute zero

Remember: The fundamental issue isn’t the size of the government or how to make government more “efficient.”

It’s who our government is for.

Should it work mainly for big corporations and billionaires — or for the rest of us?

They abolished the House of Representatives ... solely to prevent the release of information about the president's best friend, the pedophile who ran a sex trafficking ring.
I really think that we need to talk more about the fact that Republicans have basically quietly abolished the House of Representatives

Treating the Declaration of Independence’s list of grievances like a to do list.

"He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing … his invasions on the rights of the people."

"For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate …".
It's official: Speaker Johnson just cancelled all votes in the House next week.

The next scheduled voting day is 10/27; the last time the House was in session was 9/19.

No member of Congress should vote for any appropriations if the whole exercise is a non-binding farce.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.

Not being even vaguely sarcastic:

At some point, a journalist needs to ask Johnson “you regularly claim you have no idea what your own government is doing. If we take you at your word, how are you so poorly informed, and do you this level of ignorance should disqualify you as speaker?”
Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.

Swearing in isn’t some ceremony. You aren’t a member of Congress until it happens. He knows that.

No phones, no staff, nothing.

I had to escort her into the Capitol on Wed bc Capitol police must treat her as a public visitor until she’s sworn in. And solo visitors aren’t allowed during shutdown!
Johnson: "Grijalva should be working for her constituents right now. I don't know what she's doing. I keep seeing their political stunt videos. She should be in her office. She should be working or in the district for her constituents" (Grijalva is not in fact a Rep. b/c Johnson refuses to seat her)

This is a breathtaking abuse of the law and power by the President of the United States.

America is on the brink of martial law.

Do not be silent.
This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.

a significant reason this is happening is because out of a combination of partisanship and cowardice Congress has essentially abdicated its constitutional role in the republic
Look. Invading our own country is about as straightforward a case as you can have for impeachment. The GOP abandoning the Constitution is kind of the only story there is and it gets no coverage.
Guys. I just had a crazy idea. What if the President DIDN’T deploy troops in American cities. Just a thought. Have we tried that before?

Governor Whitmer was almost kidnapped by armed thugs. Governor Shapiro‘s house was set on fire. Nancy Pelosi‘s husband was violently attacked by someone looking for her. Melissa Hortman was assassinated in her home with her husband and dog…and now this. The left is the victim, not the perpetrator.
SOUTH CAROLINA… “Judge Goodstein was walking on the beach when the fire started. Her husband, Arnie, was in the house with children and perhaps grandchildren. The family had to escape by jumping from a window or balcony...” www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...

It's vitally important to reestablish and reinforce legal guardrails, and that's why it's critical to hold bad actors accountable for their actions. This "forgive, forget, and move on" behavior only enables bad actors to act badly. @democrats.org need to get their act together or get the fuck out! 😡
If by some miracle Democrats are able to wrest power back from Republicans, they must know their immediate job will be to hold Republicans accountable and create ironclad laws to protect and FIX our broke democracy.

That’s step 1 of 1,000.

It was their job in 2021 also. And that’s why we’re here.

A government which has as its mission committing as much harm as possible on its populace and never helping them one iota is not a legitimate government and must be replaced with one that is.

Dear @whatsondisneyplus.bsky.social,

Given the recent debacle concerning Jimmy Kimmel and the subsequent rush of people canceling their Disney+ subscriptions, do you think a price increase is wise right now? You're not providing better value or service to justify this increase.

Ah. The old “The shootings and the beatings and the violence are your fault because you call us fascists” trick.
Mike Johnson: "People have got to stop framing simple policy disagreements in terms of existential threats to our democracy. You can't call the other side fascists and enemies of the state and not understand that there are some deranged people in our society who will take that as cues to act."

It's Sunday evening. Many things are bad, but I went with my wife to church to sing in the choir this morning, had curry for lunch, a nap, got ice cream, and got to hang with the kitties. I may not load an exciting life, but I can still grab moments of peace with beings I love. 👱🏻‍♀️❤️😺
It’s Sunday morning. Many things are bad. But I spent a chunk of the morning snuggled in bed with my cats and my husband, we’re having cheesesteaks (a favorite) for dinner and donuts for breakfast, and I had a nice Saturday of leisurely hand sewing and reading a good book.
It’s Saturday night. Many things are bad. But my wife and I had a tasty dinner at a local restaurant, then got ice cream after, then snuggled with the pets when we got home

Plus I fixed a leaky faucet 🤓🛠️
