Under Trump's Big Ugly Bill, America's poorest families lose about $1600 per year.

The richest households gain about $12,000 per year.

We need an investment in the NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation so it can develop modern regs to turn off the tap on toxics, especially given the huge challenge of #PFAS. www.timesunion.com/capitol/arti...
Until then, we need product bans. In 2025 the Assembly again missed the mark. #nontoxicny
NY Lawmakers play PFAS ‘Whac-a-Mole’
The Legislature tabled several bills that would have put piecemeal regulations on the toxic “forever chemicals.”

If there is no birthright citizenship there are no citizens. If citizenship is required for the constitution to apply, the constitution has no meaning, and no one has rights. If you're not an immigrant, how are you a citizen except by birth in a country? WTH is the Supreme Court doing?!
An alarming sign of this moment: political assassinations and use of police costume
“We’re here today because an unspeakable tragedy has unfolded in Minnesota. My good friend and colleague Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were shot and killed earlier this morning in what appears to be a politically motivated assassination,” Gov. Tim Walz said in a press conference.

Gov. Tim Walz said there were targeted shootings in both Brooklyn Park and Champlin on Saturday.

“Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.”
A colleague asked me for this old gif. It seems apropos as the NYS legislature considers a bill on packaging that has restrictions on #toxics. I took the Ellen McArthur Fdn circular economy chart & showed that if you put toxics in... you get toxics out, over and over and over and over and over....

“Recycled” packaging? Not quite.

This new Grist piece breaks down how "chemical recycling" and fuzzy math are being used to greenwash plastic.

We need safer, non-toxic, reusable packaging—not more plastic and misleading claims. #SaferSolutions

The misleading accounting behind your ‘recycled’ plastic
A convoluted credit system allows companies to label virgin plastic as recycled. Here's how it works.

Does no one remember the Swill Milk Scandal? 8000 babies died in New York State in one year. EIGHT THOUSAND BABIES.

They don't want us to learn history. Or science. Then it's easier to get away with cutting consumer protections to increase their profit margins by selling contaminated food.
Previous to the FDA, folks would put chalk and plaster of Paris in milk to make it appear white. They could also add formaldehyde to cover the smell and taste of spoiled milk.
Never too late for an uprising. It's only over when everyone gives up on it continuing.
It's not just a cat door...

Post, repost, comment. Why this factual hugely beneficial result doesn’t sway our approaches in the USA is beyond me.
People can’t thrive when they have noplace to lay their head, get clean, feel whole.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs less to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me
In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

This was made by a former board member of mine!
This is no surprise. It doesn't matter how marginally profitable to billionaires deregulation or firing public servants is, even compared to the devastating harm that causes - This administration is clearly committed to extracting everything it can for the very few who already have too much.
Trump officials quietly move to reverse bans on toxic ‘forever chemicals’

Huge news here. Despite attempts to reverse the ban in darkness, we now see the Trump presidency for what it is.

JD Vance slams Demark for not doing enough for its citizens, when it provides universal healthcare for all of them when the US does not, and they're ranked the "Happiest Country In the World." The US ranks at the bottom of that list.

America is a delusional country that got high on its own supply.
