The kind of nerd that teaches themselves computational geometry for fun. Into ttrpgs, gaming, sci-fi and fantasy, crafty stuff, and so, so many ADHD "enhanced" hobbies. He/him, they/them is fine too.

Just realized I don't have a pinned post on bsky yet. *Smiles awkwardly at the camera*

Hello, I'm Blaine.

I'm mostly on here for (indie)game dev stuff and ttrpg stuff, but I've got the ADHD so I'm also interested in basically every art or crafting hobby ever, and a million other things besides.
I just had a probably cursed idea:

A Les Miserables fanfic where it's reimagined in a cultivation setting.

Jean Valjean is a (reincarnated) body tempering loose cultivator, obviously.

Javert is the enforcement elder of the top Orthodox faction.

I think I just learned how to make my own scripting language? This changes things.

Side note tho, I think I made a breakthrough on the game I'm working on today. Fingers crossed.

If I got mutes that want to make a game with me, you have to let me know or else you're a cop. It's the law. Or something.

Just stewing in a preemptive rage today for no apparent reason.

At work I had an obscure math question and asked an expert if he was familiar with it.

He said I should try the ai thing.

I politely told him I was looking for help understanding the thing from a person and relayed the full question. 1/2

"how did you get into ttrpgs?"

I went to the library during a storm and got eaten by a players handbook.
"how did you get into ttrpgs"

i got hit by a truck and woke up here
"how did you get into ttrpgs"

Oh, ttrpgs killed my parents so i swore to play as many as i can to absorb their power

We don’t need to reform ICE.
We don’t need alternatives to ICE.
We don’t need to engage in dishonest debates wondering what the U.S. would do without ICE.

ICE isn’t even 23 years old. Most adults know a world without ICE. And the billions used to fund ICE can be used to meet people’s basic needs.

It turns out that the folks at Anthropic used two of my books to train their Large Language Models. I've gone and submitted my claim via the class action settlement. If you're an author whose work has been stolen, you should too

If you’re looking into novellas during awards season, I humbly put forth my own, from @neonhemlock.bsky.social?

Gay archeologists, academic footnotes, alt history shenanigans, giant robots, hot superheroes, and hard-to-cook samosas are all plot points!

Gonna do some old fashioned computational geometry at work to show the boss man I don't need no fuckin AI.

I think they should get more. Fuck it why not?

"That'll mean you pay more in taxes"

Bitch, like you kept good account of my taxes before? You let fucking Intuit tell you what my taxes are, fuck off unless you want to actually do something useful for a change.
If GOP senators think they deserve 500K minimum for having their phone privacy invaded how much should citizens and legal residents detained by ICE for being Brown get? 10 million? 100 million?

Every single person who thinks "defund the police is bad and stupid" should have to explain exactly how they plan to enact their 12-step list of US police reforms to demilitarize and weed out "the bad cops" that somehow preserves all the same infrastructure and funding at the same time
Okay, enlighten the class then, what levers of power do you expect to use in order to coerce the domestic right-wing paramilitary gang of rapists, robbers, and murderers to submit to these reforms? What is the stick that is expected to be used in order to enact these changes?

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

Honestly I am completely uninterested.

Even the Star Trek people doing new Star Trek don't understand Star Trek, you want me to think the people Hasbro picked do? Lol.

Consider me skeptical at best.

Wait. I think I got it. I know how they fix the bond thing.

M holds a meeting with a bunch of agents, the culmination of which is M saying. "Somehow, 007 returned."

Q goes on a rant about how impossible and unrealistic that is.

M is like, "And yet, here he is."

Then it's never mentioned again.

This is what I try to always tell people: food banks can do way more with your money than you can, due to bulk buying deals. And they can do way, way more with your money than with the canned goods you didn’t want to eat
spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"
