This is a pot (2 views) I made when I started experimenting with sodium silicate to create texture. A tall pinch pot with porcelain inlay and white underglaze stripes. I like things that look like they've been at the bottom of the sea for centuries 😄

Born from fire and smoke, this raku vessel is inspired by the Perseus Molecular Cloud. This little fragment of the cosmos, imprinted by fire, holds echoes of stars long gone.

Like us all, it is stardust.

Already a week in! I briefly tried paper cutting a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Here’s one of the scenes I cut out.

How about some pottery today? I love this little cup… the cat was created with layers of slip to build up the form. I’d like to try this technique again but with a slip made of the same clay as the cup, that should prevent the crack that happened during firing.

Four ceramic guinea pigs of descending size. The largest is about as big as a walnut, and the smallest is barely as large as a pencil tip. There is a pencil for scale.
