This is a fucking nightmare and right now I am very, very angry with the people who put Trump back in office.

More and more kids are going to die from preventable diseases.

As I have said for months, RFK Jr. has more power to singlehandedly kill more Americans than any other cabinet secretary.

I’m beyond tired with liberalism taking solace in dissents from the liberal justices. THEY ARE MEANINGLESS WORDS. THE DISSENTS MEAN NOTHING.
Agree with this thread. Worth reading in full.

25 years ago John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, and AC Barrett all worked on GWBush's 2000 Florida recount team. What they're doing now is, if anything, more nakedly partisan.

Fire-breathing dissent by Kagan, with Sotomayor and Jackson.
They're not even trying to appear nonpartisan anymore.

Some of these deaths were preventable. Donald Trump and Elon Musk—and all of their enablers—chose not to prevent them. Theirs will be a legacy of mass death.
This fetid landmark, this historical stain on humanity is primarily due to the stunningly reckless obliteration of America's foreign assistance agency earlier this year.

Led by the richest man on earth. In secret, on a weekend. With zero analysis or discussion of its catastrophic impacts.
For First Time in Decades, Child Deaths Will Rise This Year
Almost a quarter of a million more children around the world are projected to die in 2025 than in 2024.

AI Will Only Intensity Climate Change. The Tech Moguls Don't Care.
The AI phenomenon may functionally print money for tech billionaires, at least for the time being, but it comes with a gargantuan environmental cost.

As much as I’ve long had enormous respect for Dr. Offit, unfortunately I think he’s wrong about this. COVID taught us that death from disease will no longer “do the education.” We’re now well and truly screwed. Dr. Offit is working from the perspective of a pre-social media prepandemic world.
One of the things about trust is that it is efficient. It saves you having to invest a lot of time and effort in verification, and if placed in the right places, saves you a lot of pain.

"The diseases will do the education" is what we get when we don't trust.

Every year since 1988, the United States has recognized World AIDS Day — until now.

Why not? Maybe because the Trump administration doesn’t want to acknowledge that its foreign aid cuts led to nearly 150,000 deaths from AIDS, according to Boston University researchers.

Shameful.
