I think this prediction is correct. The Supreme 6, like Scalia used to do, believe the end justifies the means, even if the means is legally illogical. The 6 don’t care about sound legal reasoning; they also enjoy shredding stare decisis when the means justifies the end, e.g., Bush v. Gore in 2000.

Bessent fails to mention that Trump is on Team Putin & supports Putin’s efforts to take over Ukraine. Trump still refuses to provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs to remove Russia from Ukraine. Trump is also on Team Xi, although Trump tries hard to show the public he’s not for the ‘26 midterm.
