#OurAdjusterofClaims a modern silk embroidery icon is complete. Spare a thought for my poor eyes as each bullet is 5mm ish in length and the lettering was done in #100 Japanese silk thread with a beading needle.

I don't care if these monstrous ICE raids are a "federal operation". This is authoritarian violence, plain and simple.

Just because Stephen Miller has kidnapping quotas for brown people he doesn't want to see on the street doesn't mean we have to think it's okay.

My dearest flock. We have begun disappearing people. There's no sugar coating it.

"I can prove I'm a citizen!"

To who, my love? Without due process, with people just vanishing, you have no one to prove your citizenship to.

ICE is taking your neighbors. How long till they're at your door?

Working on a Patreon for my death education work. What sort of information would you expect to see in something like that my dearest flock?

I'm 16 and learning about HIV/AIDs crisis taking my queer elders.

I'm 19. My professor tells me my generation is screwed financially forever and he's so sorry.

I'm 36 and staring fascism in the eye in my own country.

Republicans have always been responsible.
I'm 18. The economy enters a once-in-a-century recession. A Republican president is responsible.

I'm 29. There is once-in-a-century pandemic that leads to a once-in-century-recession. A Republican is responsible.

I'm 35. Tarriffs trigger a once-in-a-century recession. A Republican is responsible.

Today's sermon: You, my beloved flock, are a miracle.

No, seriously I mean it! This is the heart of Amore Fati, love your fate. When you look at the number of events that had to line up perfectly for you to exist? For you to read this right now with the context you bring to it? Miraculous. 1

"A GREAT NATION DOES NOT HIDE ITS HISTORY."

Yes, I will forever quote George W. Bush on this, at the opening of the NMAAHC. BC that's strength-- facing it, contending with it.
"I don't want a Disney vacation of our history! I don't a whitewashed history, I don't want a homogenized history. Tell me the wretched truth about America, because that speaks to our greatness" -- 20 hours into his speech, Cory Booker is spitting absolute 🔥

I knew Cory slightly at Stanford (he knew everyone slightly; he’s that kind of guy) and always respected and admired him, which is not the same as always agreeing with him. But this is the sort of Cory he should be more often.
Cory Booker has just crossed the 19 hour line.

Five hours and 13 minutes more and he will break Strom Thurmond's record for the longest speech in the history of the U.S. Senate.

It’s easy to believe that the horrors of the past are just that—past. But injustice doesn’t announce itself with flashing lights. It seeps in gradually, disguised as political necessity, economic pragmatism, or national security.
There was a lot of #AcademicFreedom, good scholarship, and independent thought in German universities before Hitler. After Hitler had risen to power, many academics fled the country. Some resisted the Nazi regime and were persecuted. Most adapted to a new situation. Here are some examples. 1/n
