This is a great video to get the gist about AI and its bubble.
Sora proves the AI bubble is going to burst.

Charles Cecil says that using AI to upscale artwork for Broken Sword: Reforged was a mistake. "The result was not enormously satisfactory," he says. Instead, Revolution ended up redrawing the backgrounds from scratch, using the original artwork as a reference.

Those on an H1B cannot return to the US from tomorrow (Sunday) unless paying $100K. This is an out-of-the blue presidential action. We’ll see software engineers stranded abroad.

One easy to predict outcome: those on US visas will travel less… for work, for conferences etc.

But seriously, if this kind of fundraise is not signalling fundraising hype being at ridiculous levels related to AI, not sure what is

In a normal market, you'd just raise money to help companies do better customer research simulations, to make $$$ eventually

Raising VC funding by referencing an imaginary technology in (Psychohistory) Isaac Asimov novel (Foundation) was not on my bingo list for 2025

A bit of a buzz kill they are using this "Psychohistory" to "give you customer insights" instead of predicting the future of mankind

It’s a common misconception that ADHD is just an inability to focus. Really, it’s a struggle to control focus.

I can hyperfixate for hours on complex but pointless tasks and freeze on simple tasks.

Some days, my brain’s a Lamborghini with no brakes. Other days, a rusty bike with a stuck chain.

Builder .ai was an AI tooling company that:

- Had 30 devs working on AI tooling

- … and 300 more building tools like JIRA, Slack, Zoom, Figma for internal use. From scratch.

One more clue as to why the company struggled

There's now a market for companies able to provide onsite testing in remote locations to other companies and HR deps.
Hard part would be to build trust between clients and remote testing companies.
AI is mostly bringing more problems for now 🥲
It's a very strange hiring market in tech: both for teams and hiring managers hiring, as well as for engineers looking for jobs.

Companies are struggling to find solid engineers, and solid engineers are struggling to hear back from companies looking for people just like them.
Tech interviews feel like they are at inflection point: a lot of approaches and interview types that worked fine until now seem to be breaking down.

Could we be heading back to pre-pandemic hiring practices? Today's deepdive: newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/tech-hirin...

This is wild

Spain blocking possibly 75% of all internet traffic - as most of it proxies through Cloudflare, and they blocked CF IPs

Also blocking all of Vercel right now

Shows how strange court orders aimed to shut down select few sites can take down most of the internet in the country…
