Mother, I’m sad that you’re gone, but am happy you’re liberated from your pain. You did so much, and wanted so much more. The world burned brightly for you. You lived so fearlessly and confidently.

Your life was a series of voyages. It’s time for the next adventure. Go fly now!
There is no greater team to root for in this lifetime than the California Golden Bears

Rece Davis has been hosting College GameDay with ESPN for over a decade.

Today, he said the show he did in Berkeley last October with Cal fans is the best one he’s ever done. You can still catch him on a telecast singing Ott to Go.

A mother bear always protects her cubs, especially when they put themselves in danger.

Three stories about how my fierce, confident, flawed, brave mom saved me from myself:

-moving to California
-graduating from Berkeley
-drowning in my Cal writing ego

Nine defensive backs
Four linebackers
One defensive end

No offensive players drafted for Cal in the Justin Wilcox era
Was curious and glanced at Cal’s NFL draft history under Wilcox and it’s truly remarkable. 14 players drafted, ALL of them on defense, 9 of them DBs.
