Red carpet for Putin in 2025 = absolute lack of moral values. Utterly disgusting (and dangerous for the world). Doesn't matter it's Trump, Modi or anyone else. Doesn't matter what "what about" or economic or political arguments you have. Lack of moral values + "what about" = lack of moral values.

There is more story behind this "card with a big number" than in the majority of dashboards.

Data gods, forgive our sins. In our pursuit of automation, we have summoned digital demons, and they have taken control. We built the AI clouds, and hell has fallen to Earth. The clouds are raining dashboards, flooding our world with a chaos of meaningless colors, gradients, and animations.

A report user doesn't understand non-additive calculations, so you change the measure total to be additive, disregarding the statistical and business meaning.

The last step on this slippery road is saying, without a gram of sarcasm, "Mr. Trump, you're the most stable genius in the universe".

I proposed the trolley problem to ChatGPT: a cockroach vs. Putin. It chose to kill Putin and explained why. Smart enough. The Turing test passed.

One more experiment with the Button Slicer: Row-Level Security (RLS)-based default slicer selection (for cases where security isn't required, but a default selection is desired).

The logged-in employee is selected by default and highlighted in red font.

Magic of the new Power BI Button Slicer: the current calendar month is always selected by default.

In the video, I change the system date, refresh the report, and the slicer selection updates automatically to reflect the new current month.

This is how you create a (white) hole in a map. I think it looks like a bar chart that starts from a non-zero value.

Multiple Stars in a Star Schema

I've deactivated my X account. I'll be here and on LinkedIn.
X is in Nazi hands.

Sadly, the US in Nazi hands as well... Dear US followers who do not support this madness, you don't have much (or any) time before the regime is strong enough to halt any opposition.

Take care!

My favorite book review:

Amazon. Book "The Data Loom: Weaving Understanding by Thinking Critically and Scientifically with Data" by Stephen Few

Review: 1.0 out of 5 stars

THIS IS NOT A BOOK ON WEAVING TECHNIQUES. Was not paying attention, I guess. Very disappointed.

#dataviz Just use different shades of the same hue or transparency. There is no logic in using random colors for time dimension.
