A gay man from a country town once showed me the newspaper column of mine he'd kept in his wallet since (pre-socials) school; it said he was not alone & would find his people. Social media can be a lifeline for kids who're bullied, live in abusive home, or whose hobbies/interests are anti-anxiety.

Can I just state for the record that the social media ban for kids and teens is a stupid idea. All it will lead to is a bunch of kids who are now about 12 getting to 16 in 4 years time and having no social media "street smarts". We are creating a generation of social media illiterates.
