Hey Retailers. Please add a "no I don't want to review you, or the product I bought from you as it was a Christmas gift for someone else. Stop f***ing sending me an email reminder about it every day" option to your site.

Thank you.

The UK right are apoplectic when they think Tesco aren't putting the word "Christmas" on their Christmas trees.

Currys is literally saying "forget Christmas, it's Giftmas" in their adverts and there's nothing.

It's almost like it's engineered rage that makes zero sense.

@nationaltrust.org.uk Hi. I'm a member and want to submit some feedback.

I rarely use cards these days and have a habit of loosing my NT card, as it's rattling away in my pocket during visits.

New blog post: Returning to WordPress core contributing. Aka "Wot I did in WordPress 6.9"
Returning to core contributing
With the release of WordPress 6.9, I’m finally returning to the contributing to core. The last time was WordPress 6.5 (I’m genuinely not sure what I did for that one – it certainly wasn’t code related!) and, previous to that, 5.8, which was over 4 years ago. And this contribution has been quite the journey.

Shame on DeviantArt for locking account 2FA behind a subscription. Basic security shouldn't be a premium feature.

“Drivers urged to put washing up liquid in cars” – why you SHOULDN’T do it
Right now, the internet is alive with tips from local and some major news outlets with the “amazing” advice to rub washing up liquid on your car windscreen, so as to avoid condensation. But, please don’t – it’s a badly thought out solution, and here’s why…

Based on conversion and how the BBC generates revenue, if we had to pay out Trump's $1b, that would be around £20 for each TV licence payer.

Even if the BBC lost, paying £20 to constantly have the claims of what he did analysed and repeated in court would be well worth it. Game on Donald.

Automattic has been working with the Internet Archive to develop a plugin to combat link rot, and it's a plugin I'd encourage you to install. As the plugin says: When a linked page disappears, the plugin helps preserve your user experience by redirecting visitors to a reliable archived version. It also works proactively by archiving your own posts every time they’re updated, creating a consistent backup of your content’s history. I've been doing this manually on my old archives, fixing broken links and tending the garden. But we can make it all automatic. 🙂

Whether TV, online or print media, why can marketers never represents gamers properly? Here's Amazon showing someone holding a games controller in a way that nobody would.

The argument I've heard about this all day, including on @lbc.co.uk this afternoon, is that "they're not all, white middle-aged men".

I'm very sure 100% are not but images from recent demonstrations would tend to suggest it's a tar brush worth using.
